Remote is not making a sound when I point to my expedition with it. It was working fine yesterday. Also the key I have only fits into the ignition and not the door. What do I do?

The remote starter module is not getting an electrical signal when you turn the key to the on position after remote stating the vehicle. When you depress the brake without turning the key on the vehicle shuts down. The remote module thinks the key is off even when you turn it on. There is a loose connection or the remote start device is defective.
You need to find the black push button called the valet button. That is the overide. Get in the car turn the key to IGN as the alarm is going off and then you have either 5 or 10 seconds to push that button once and then 2-5 seconds later the alarm is shut off. To put the car into valet mode which means no alarm at all you put the key to IGN push that button once then pull key out at which point the blue light should turn solid blue.
Or option two is you open a door and hit the lock, then unlock, then lock button again on the remote and the blue led will be solid which means no crazy alarm.
1.Remove key from ignition. 2.Close all doors. 3.Open driver side door and leave open. 4.Insert key in ignition, Turn key to ON (as far as you can go without starting the engine) and OFF, Remove Key. 5.Repeat step 4 two more times, making sure you remove key each time. 6. Close and then open the driver’s door three times. 7.Buzz sound or chime should be heard at this point signaling that the vehicle is now in programming mode. If not, wait 40 seconds and return to step 1. 8.All transmitters need to be programmed at this time, including the old ones. Push any button on a transmitter two times. A buzz sound to chime should be heard at this point signaling that the vehicle has accepted the new transmitter code. Repeat for next transmitter, up to a total of three remotes (including any old remotes). 9.After all remotes are programmed, wait 15 seconds or until you hear four chimes signaling successful programming.
Ok here are the programming instructions for the remote, follow them exactly, no missed steps, if this doesn't correct the issue the remote is defective most likely.
Remove key from ignition.
Close all doors.
Open driver side door and leave open.
Perform the following steps within 24 seconds. a. Insert key in ignition. b. Turn key to ON and OFF. c. Repeat step b two more times. d. Remove key. e. Push driver door frame button three times (black rubber button located on driver door frame that tell the vehicle whether or not door is closed.)
5. Buzz sound, chime or doors will lock and unlock should be heard at this point signaling that the vehicle is nowin programming mode. If not, wait 40 seconds and return to step 4.
6. All transmitters need to be programmed at this time, including the old ones. Push any button on the transmitter two times. A buzz sound, chime or doors locking and unlocking should be heard at this point signaling that the vehicle has accepted the new transmitter code. If there is only one transmitter, repeat this step two more times using the only transmitter. If there are two transmitters, repeat this step two more times using the second transmitter.
7. Push driver door frame button one time. Two buzz sounds, chimes or doors locking and unlocking 2 times should be heard at this point signaling successful programming.
take vin# to dealership parts department, you can get a new key that will fit ignition and all locks, try new key,if switch does not rotate, replace ignition assembly
Apparently the vehicle was in park enough to get the key out, but not enough to get it to turn to start or allow the remote starter to work. Once it had been jiggled around and put ALL the way into the PARK position, all works well again!
the lock on the driver side could be damaged or some on might have used a jimmy to open that door before how evr you have to open the pannel and remove the lock cylinder part and make sure that the key is working or yo must change the tumbler s in the lock to fit your key (lock smith)
