SOURCE: broken crankshaft pulley bolt on

The only possibility I can suggest is that which is called and 'Easyout.' These are available at parts stores and come (normally) with a sized drill and a special bit with left-hand threads.
First a hole is drilled with the provided drill bit, then the removal bit is screwed into the new hole and turned counter-clockwise which further inserts the removal bit and, if the removal bit does not snap, the broken threaded shank should back out.
I would suggest soaking the broken part with penetrating lubricant first and allowing it time to seep into the threads of the broken bolt.

SOURCE: removing crankshaft pulley on 93 Toyota camry v6

put a breaker bar and socket on the bolt, put the breaker bar against a part of the cars frame or with a pipe extending the length of the breaker bar, rest it on the ground - MAKE SURE IT IS STABLE AND WILL NOT MOVE OR FURTHER DAMAGE AND INJURY COULD OCCUR- have some one watch the breaker bar (from a safe distance) while you QUICKLY bump the ignition with the key. Remember the motor turns clockwise so rest the your breaker bar securely with the direction of rotation in mind!

How to replace Crank Seal , Honda Accord 95, F22B2 engine

this is covered in the FSM. 95 accord.
did you google this?
http://www.honda-acura.net/forums/accord/137349-1993-f22-crank-cam-balance-shaft-seal-hell.html

are you sure its only the crank seal,????
gravity lies. as does windage effects.
is this an A/T or M/T car, the latter makes the bolt come off easy
(5th gear + brakes) the slush pump tranny NOT.
so if you read the FSM it states." it shows photo of tire off and pulley bolt view and how the body ends just above that bolt, (see it?)
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the accessory drive belts.
  3. If necessary, secure the crankshaft with a flywheel holding tool.
For some engines, a special pulley holder tool is available to secure the pulley while removing and installing the bolt (refer to the illustration)."
4 Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt. This bolt can be difficult to remove. Spray the bolt with penetrating oil and allow it to soak overnight. Book forgets to see CCW direction on bolt (RHT)
the bolt will take about 200fl/lbs of reverse torque to get off.
5 Carefully remove the pulley from the crankshaft. Do not pry it off.
6:
Remove the key from the crankshaft sprocket. Be sure not to lose it.
7 -If necessary, remove the tool holding the crankshaft.

remove seal with seal puller or screw trick ,etc.
do not damage the seal base collar of the housing. DO NOT.

is this your first engine seal work>?
or done many , just need help with one honda.?
if doing all work on a honda, did you ever consider a real FSM?
why not get one, and read it, and all the steps and warnings.
worst case.
if you work engines, you know as you go , you see
Omg, it not the crank it the cam leaking, or just a bad valve cover.
fate happens, distributor seal leak too.

with all FWD, doing a crank seal can be easy or hard.
no access panels in finder
or on some cars, 7ton pressed on pulley, (Dodge neons/ yuk)

bolt spec:
1994-95 Accord and Prelude-181 ft. lbs. (245 Nm)

if the 90,000 mile timing belt is ignored, you will bend the head valves over, or worse... so...... all this , is a consideration.

Can I time the engine without taking the bottom pulley off?? If so is the middle mark on the pulley TDC? (1994 Honda Civic DX 1.5liter single overhead cam)

You should remove the Crankshaft Pulley, because you have to remove the Timing Belt Cover to remove the belt, adjust tension, and line up the Timing Marks.

Which way do u turn the harmonic balancer bolt to remove it

gas engine :counter clock wise use penetrating oil let soak lefty loosey Diesel Engines

The 2.2L diesel engine utilizes an exposed crankshaft pulley and a hidden crankshaft timing pulley/damper. The following procedure may be used to remove the exposed crankshaft pulley.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Loosen and remove the accessory drive belts.

  3. Turn the crankshaft pulley to align the timing mark with the engine pointer. This should be done if any further procedures are being performed which might disturb valve timing.

  4. Remove the retaining bolts, then remove the crankshaft pulley.

To install:

  1. Align and install the crankshaft pulley.

  2. Install the retaining bolts, then tighten to 10-17 ft. lbs. (14-23 Nm).

  3. Install the accessory drive belts, then properly adjust their tension.

  4. Connect the negative battery cable.

I would like to know where the crankshaft gasket is? I have a 1994 dodge spirit, a 6 cyl. How hard is it for me to replace the gasket?

3.3L and 3.8L Engines
  1. Raise and safely support the front of the vehicle on jackstands.
  2. Remove the right front wheel and inner splash shield.
  3. Remove the accessory drive belt from the engine.
  4. Remove the center bolt of the crankshaft pulley.
  5. Using a claw-type gear puller, remove the crankshaft pulley from the crankshaft. When using the puller, make certain that the claws are situated on the inner section of the pulley. If the claws are used on the outer section of the pulley, the pulley will be damaged.
  6. Use tool C-4991 or the equivalent to remove the oil seal from the timing chain cover. Make certain not to damage the crankshaft seal surface of the cover. Fig. 10: Use a claw-type gear puller to remove the crankshaft pulley/damper — 3.3L and 3.8L engines 86723231.gif
Fig. 11: Use the seal remover tool C-4991 to remove the crankshaft oil seal — 3.3L and 3.8L engines 86723230.gif
    To install:
  7. Install the new seal by using tool C-4992 or the equivalent. Place the seal into the opening with the seal spring towards the inside of the engine. Install the seal until flush with the cover.
  8. To install the crankshaft pulley to the crankshaft a 5.9 in. (150mm) long bolt, a thrust bearing and washer, and plate L-4524 or equivalent.
    1. Tap the crankshaft pulley onto the crankshaft with a rubber or plastic mallet making sure to hit the pulley on the center portion.
    2. Once the pulley is started onto the crankshaft, install a nut the thrust bearing and washer, and the plate L-4524 onto the bolt.
    3. Thread the bolt into the end of the crankshaft and screw it in at least 2 or 3 complete turns.
    4. Tighten down on the nut on the bolt to slowly press the pulley onto the crankshaft until completely seated.
    5. Remove the bolt, nut, washer and thrust bearing, and plate L-4524 from the crankshaft. Fig. 12: Installing the crankshaft pulley — 3.3L and 3.8L engines 86723229.gif

  9. Install the center crankshaft pulley bolt and tighten it to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).
  10. Install the accessory drive belt and tighten by following the instructions in Section 1.
  11. Install the splash shield and front wheel.
  12. Lower the vehicle to the ground.

Timing honda accord

Locate the crankshaft pulley at the front of the engine and remove any grease or dirt to expose the timing marks. Turn off any accessories such as the radio, climate controls and lights.
  • Step 2 Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. The cooling fan will cycle on and off signifying it has reached the correct temperature. Shut the engine off.
  • Step 3 Connect the timing light to the battery if necessary and to the number one ignition wire located at the far end of engine on the driver's side. Restart the car and allow it to idle for 2 minutes.
  • Step 4 Point the timing light at the crankshaft pulley and determine the amount of adjustment needed. Loosen the hold down bolts on the distributor and rotate it slowly until the timing mark matches the middle line on the timing light.
  • Step 5 Tighten the distributor hold down bolts and recheck the timing to ensure it didn't move. Turn the engine off and remove the timing light. Reconnect the number one ignition wire.

Where is the crankshaft sensor on a 1994 Oldsmobile 88

On the passenger side behind the crankshaft pulley. You have to remove the serpentine belt and crankshaft pulley, which is best done through the wheel well. Removing the pulley can be quite difficult as some of these require a special puller. It may be worth the 1 hour of labor to just have a shop do it as this could consume a whole day if you don't have the tools for the job. With the crankshaft pulley off it would be wise to inspect/replace the crankshaft seal. There is also a bit of a trick installing the new sensor, it has to be aligned carefully so that the crankshaft pulley vanes hit it.

    Honda accord ex 92

Crankshaft pulley (harmonic balancer) removal- disconnect neg battery cable, remove belts, it would be a good idea to soak the bolt w/ penetrating oil overnight, there is a special 'crankshaft pulley holding tool' available to secure the pulley while removing and installing the bolt. Some parts stores loan tools for free if u purchase parts from them, I don't know if this is available, but it would be worth checking out. Attach holding tool and remove bolt securing pulley. Carefully remove pulley from crankshaft, Do NOT pry off. Remove key from crankshaft sprocket,
Install: install key on crankshaft sprocket, slide pulley on, apply clean oil to bolt threads but NOT to washer contact surfaces, secure crankshaft w/ holding tool, tighten to 159 ft lbs (91-93 Accord), install belts, re-attach neg cable.
