I just bought a 2009 Impala (3.9 V6) and there is no owner's manual - It has 82,000 miles - when is the serpentine belt supposed to be replaced? thanks

When it goes bad.. look at it if it looks ok and does not show too much wear or cracks it is probably good. I have never seen a spec for a serpentine belt replacement. NOW if its a timing belt that is under the cover (you cannot see it) there is specs.

then when that is discovered.
then look at what is DRIVEN bay said belt.
and check that for bearing siezed.
or at the least set the tension to spec.

the spec, is at alldata dot cam, all time time.
typical is 1/2" deflection with 22 lbs force. on v belts.

I need the engine timing and the crank pulley torque specs.

Once you align the top and bottom timing marks, and install the belt and tight the belt tensioner, you are done, there is no distributor to adjust ignition timing, it is computer controlled. The torque for the crankshaft bolt is 80 foot pounds. Hope this helps, let me know.
