SOURCE: how to remove the tail lights from a 2003 murano

Here's the step by step procedure from the beginning.

  1. Carefully remove the black one inch wide plastic molding strip that runs along the interior side of the tail light. This can be pried off carefully without breaking the plastic clips that hold it in place.
  2. Using a 10mm socket, remove the two bolts that you see which secure the tail light housing.
  3. The tail light housing is also held in place with three or four plastic clips which can be broken rather easily if you don't do this next step carefully. Begin prying the plastic tail light using a plastic putty knife or screwdriver. The top clip comes out pretty easily and so does the bottom one.
  4. On a cold winter day, the middle clip is the one that can break rather easily so gently rock the tail light or wait for warm weather when the plastic isn't brittle.
  5. Once the tail light "bucket" is removed it's a simple matter to replace the bulbs.

SOURCE: 2003 honda ody tail lights

open the rear hatch. On the side of the tail light assembly nearest the hatch opening, their are two flush fit flap doors molded into the trim for the tail light. Use a small flat blade screwdriver and gently pry open these flaps. the hinge is on the side nearest the hatch opening. Under the flaps you'll find phillips head screws which you must remove. Finally, at the front outboard corner of the tail light housing, you must gently pry rearward on the tailight housing with a tape wrapped (prevents scratching your paint) flat blade screwdriver to release a spear point clip. Once its out, you can access the bulbs in the housing easily. Reverse steps to reinstall.

There really is no way to change just the cover. Open the hatch. There are two quarter sized round plastic clips that have to be gently pulled out. Then you can remove the tail light.

How do I change the tail lights on my hyundai tiburon 2003

Open your hatch and behind the tail lights you will see panels with plastic knobs you can unscrew. Behind there are 3 8mm nuts you need to unscrew which will let you remove the whole tail light assembly. There is a post on the actual tail light assembly that holds it in so you may have to give it a firm pull to actually seperate it from the car. If you have the stock infinity sub you will need to remove that first to get to the drivers side tail lamp.
