Sunroof drainage cleared and now car will not start

You may have gotten the spark plug system wet, or one of the engine sensors. You may need to just leave the hood open and attempt to let it dry for a few hours. If that does not work you will need a mechanic to check into the systems to see what failed.

Water in floor on both sides of car

1) Could be your sun roof drain, if you have a sun roof. The drain runs from the corners of the sun roof recess usually down the front side pillars and our of the whell arch. Check the flow path is clear. Had to clear mine a couple of weeks ago, found that mud was piling up under wheel arch behind the plastic arch screen, had to dig it out, ok now.

2) Could be your pollen filter is blocked, check and change.

3) Make sure all your door seals are good.

4) Make sure all the engine bay, bulk head drainage channels are clear.

5) Check your coolant levels, if the heater matrix has a hole, could leak inside the car, can be fixed with a proprietry solution, one I know is Radweld., pour it in the header tank, top up the coolant and go for a spin.

I have a 2005 Ford Five Hundred and it seems to be holding water somewhere near both back doors. I can hear it sloshing around when I am driving? Also sometimes when I open one of those doors, water comes...

Well, I would look for the drainage holes in the door near the bottom where water should come out, eliminating this problem.
Sometimes the holes get plugged up with dirt or debris such as grass or pine needles depending on what falls on the car when it is parked.

If one clears the drainage holes, that is probably a good solution for the problem.

Water in getting in floor behind driver seat

Remove the Cowl vent panel under the wipers. Each corner in the basin has a square drainage hole. Make sure they are clear with a blower or long wire. They get clogged with leaves and debris. Test it by pouring water and see if it drains under the fender. Drill additional drain holes if you want, at the bottom of this metal basin. On the back of this basin you will see a large rectangular hole where the air is sucked in for the heater. That is where the water gets into if the drainage is clogged. It then shoots through the vent under the drivers seat, aiming to the rear. that is why you get a wet rear floor.

    Cleaning drainage holes

i think the drainage holes you are reffering to are the ones in the front cowel. You have to remove the wiper arms and the unscrew the cowel to get at the drains.

take the cover off of the door behind the outside mirror. if there is a hole where the cable goes through.. seal it was some type of elastic caulk such as silicone. water comes in around this when it rains but generally just runs down the door post and onto the carpet
