You need to replace spark pulg well gaskets. Unfortunately, on 2002- 2006 model you'll have to replace the whole valve cover in order to do that. You'll need to replace valve cover gasket as well.
Check out this video for complete guitde how to do it:

Yes, you need a Rocker cover (valve cover) Gasket kit. Remove the valve cover, remove all old O-rings and cover gasket, clean grooves and mating surfaces without gouging or scratching them, put the new gaskets on as per factory recommendations, tighten to the proper torque and you're done. The spark plug holes in the cover are part of the valve cover gasket kit. Any Napa, Car Quest, Pep Boys, Auto Zone will have it.

Spark plug tube seals 2.5L 2002 Nissan
Called the auto parts stores they all claimed they could get the seals, but weren't able to get a part # to order them & they also didn't come with the valve cover gasket. Called the Nissan dealer they said the seal were not a replacement item, but came new with a new valve cover that was $80+.
I removed the old seals & I found a seal that would work a National# 471270 @ $5 per seal X 4.

SOURCE: ON 2002 ALTIMA 2.5 I FOUND OIL

I would try snugging down all the valve cover bolts before replacing anything. A valve cover gasket kit should have the grommets and gaskets necessary to repair this if you find no loose bolts.

Oil leaking on spark plug

If the spark plug is oil fouled, you either have leaking valve seals, or bad piston rings. Bad rings would be accompanied by excessive blow-by. With the engine running, remove your oil filler cap. If there is air pulsing out of the filler tube, it your rings. If not, it is your valve seals.

I have Nissan Altima and oil is coming into the intake manifold and smoking too

The valve cover gasket seals are probably old and brittle and they are not sealing in the oil. This happens to most vehicles as they get older. With coil on cap plugs, oil will fill up the spark plug tubes and it will start to missfire. New valve cover gasket seals are probably needed

Does the valve cover on a 2002 Altima 2.5L have to be replace if the spark plug seals are bad

No you do not have to replace the valve cover, you however to need to replace the spark plug ring seals. You can find it on ebay, or go to your local auto store, like autozone, advance auto, and they should be able to order it for you too. You may need to take out your valve cover in order to get to the spark plug rubber seals which is on the inner side of your valve cover.

My car is a 95 Nissan Altima is jerking while idling and while driving. There is oil in the area where the spark plugs are. The distrubtor does not seem to be working either.

You need to replace the valve cover gasket.Under the valve cover are four tubes that the spark plugs fit down into. between these tubes and the inside of the valve cover is a series of round gaskets that fit on these tubes. When they get old they leak oil into these tubes.replace spark plugs and wires when you do the job, they are most likely finished. Its a nice job for a Saturday morning, about an hour. Good Luck

What would cause my 2001 nissan altima gxe to have oil in the plug cylinder ?? It's only in one and the plug is not oil fouled.

Most likely a worn ring or valve seal. You'll have to check the compression to be sure which problem it is. If the compression is normal then the seal is most likely leaking. If the compression is low then the ring is worn.

Oil in spark plug well 02 nissan maxima what could cause this

On the DOHC: The Spark Plug Tube Seals (Washers) on the Valve Cover has developed a leak.
Install new seals.
Remove the Valve Cover to Install the Seals.
If the Valve Cover Gasket have not been replaced recently, go ahead and replace them as well, making sure you clean thoroughly BOTH surfaces before installing any new Seal Washers and Gasket.
