I hate fast turn signals. I often locate electronic flashers in a junk yard, though they are not too expensive to buy. Every vehicle requires 2 one for the turn signals and one for the hazards. The bi-metal strip (heat activated) style that you have now changes speed with the number of lights on it so are replaced with electronic flashers when towing a trailer. Look for the flashers under your steering column or on your fuse panel. Sometimes they are in the glove box or behind the radio... just listen for it to locate it.
1: if the turn signal is not flashing the arrow just illuminates on the dash and says lit you might have a to change out the bulbs to working ones. on my jeep the bulbs turned on but the extra filliment on the bulb was burned out and didnt allow my lights to flash.
2:if the bulbs are good then replace the flasher is a 10.00 part you can get at the autopart store it usually next to the fuse box or clipped on the steering colum.
3: the switch might have a corrosion build up that does not allow the votage to go through the switch. you will have to remove the steering wheel to repair this
4: check your fuse.
turn on hazzard flashers, locate relay under dash by following sound, was this flasher that was replaced they are very simular.if not replace turn signal flasher again, might have got bummed one.onlt other optin is turn signal switch, chech connector at bottom of steering colum.any other functions on colum failing is good indicator of switch, switch is rare failure
Turn signal flasher is normaly located in the fuse panel. It should be round and have three prongs If I remember right. there might be two of them, one for signal and one for hazard.
I just replaced the turn signal flasher today in my 1996 Olds Ciera. It was not near the steering column. It's actually behind the fuse box in the glove box but the easiest way to get to it is to remove the ashtray/cigarette lighter and it's harness and reach back to the right behind the fuse box. It took all of 10 minutes to replace. This is not the same as the hazard flasher, just the turn signal one.
Hi, this is a flasher issue. its malfunctioning. its located near the Seating area, driver side, on the upper steering
column housing at the top of the steering column,
behind the multi-function switch.
If you would like to check the fuse. it is number 3(20a) yellow.
look for your flasher relax it is clicking? may need to be replaced usually they are abotu 1" in diameter, round and with an metal or aluminum body, but not all the time. Should be in the fuse panel in the car. Some vechicles have incorperated it into the emergency flasher switch when its located in the dash where you have to just replace that.
