Do a visual check of both front tires, look for bulges in the side walls and on the tread itself. check the rims for mud or someother foreign debris. if it does it even worse when the brakes are applied, probably a warped rotor

thank you do u think that it may be something to do with the transmission stabilizer

  • topfuelfumef Oct 03, 2010

if there was a problem there, u would hear a 'clunk' when put into gear or when it shifts. from what u described, the problem is coming from an imbalance of a part in a circular rotation

2009 Audi A2 while driving feels like a tire has bump on it

It's likely a broken belt in one of your tires. Jack the suspected wheel up and give it a spin. Watch the tread and see if you find a lump on it at some point as it spins. If not try the other ones.

Shakes when driving

One of the tires may have a slipped belt or be extremely out of balance. I would reccomend not driving it until you have it inspected.

My 1997 expedition, shakes really bad when i hit 35 miles per hour. when i first got it it shook at 60 miles per hour now at 35. i dont know whats wrong

Take a close look at the tires, look for bulges and lumps. You may have a slipped belt. Where the rubber delaminates from the reinforcment belt embedded in the tire. If this is the case, you must replace the tire. Also look for missing balance weights. Around the rim you should be able to tell if a weight fell off.
Another very serious possibility is a failed shock absorber. A very rough test is to manually push / bounce one corner of truck down a few times then let go and see if it keeps bouncing more than one time, one and half max. Check all 4 corners.
Otherwise, possible bent rim, missing lug nuts, bad wheel bearing.
Good luck

When driving my car the steering wheel shakes

If the steering wheel starts to shake between 55-65 MPH then you need to balance the wheels. If it shakes when you press the brakes, your brake rotors are warped and need to be cut or replaced. If the steering wheel shakes at low speeds then it's possible one of your rims is bent or one of your tires is out of round. Leaving a car parked for a long time in snowy and icy roads will damage your tires, causing them to warp. Depending on which situation is causing your steering wheel to shake, have it looked at.

HI I HAVE A 01 FORD EXPEDITION AND ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO IT STARTED TO SHAKE A LITTLE WHEN IM GOING ABOUT 50MPH AND ITS LIKE WELL IM NOT A MECHANIC BUT ITS LIKE THE INJECTORS WERE DIRTY. OR SOMETHING WAS...

Sounds like a wheel balance problem. If there's no instability in the steering at speed (wandering, cutting) meaning you don't have to keep correcting it to stay on the road, its most likely tire balance. Check your wheels for packed mud, bent rims or tire belts that have seperated. The way to tell this is to look at the sidewalls for concave spots. This is where there will be a broken belt. This will create balance problems. If none of these exist take it to a tire shop and have them check the balance. The shop that installed the tires will usually do this for free.

My explorer shakes at driving of high speed

Something out-of-balance somewhere. Start with the tires, check the wheels, then have the driveshaft balance checked. Do any off-roading?
