Question about 1995 Lexus ES 300

1 Answer

A deer leaped onto my 1995 es300 lexus and cracked the front window and put a few minor dents in the front-left panel around the front wheel. drove home and before shutting off noticed windows would not work. after shutting down, car is now locked in the park position and the door locks and windows don't work. also nothing happens when I try to start vehicle. steering wheel is also locked and stays locked even when I push in the bypass lever with a screwdriver to get it out of park.

SOURCE: 2000 Lexus ES300 trunk lid does not fit right on 2001 Lexus ES300

Hi, try loosening the catch on the trunk lid but do not remove it and the lock mechanism, close the trunk lid but not fully, then pull the backseats down and climb into the trunk. Adjust the lock and latch until they meet up and lock together ( This will take some time and patience is essential). Fasten the Catch and Lock back up. Then retry opening and closing, if it still doesnt fit just do the same again, just needs a bit of adjustment.

hope this helps. jonno

How do i change the driver side headlight bulb on a 2000 Lexus ES300

  • Open the hood of the ES300 and prop it open.

Look at the headlight assembly from the top down. Depending on your model year, there may be a plastic panel covering the top of the headlight assembly. If this is present, remove it by lifting all of the plastic clips around the edges and lifting it off.

  • 3

Locate the three bolts that hold the headlight assembly in place. Two of the bolts are in the left and right rear corners of the assembly, and the third is on the side bordering the outside edge of the car, screwed into the back of the fender panel. Remove all of these bolts with a small adjustable wrench. Though they appear to be designed to be removed with a screwdriver, the way they're arranged makes it almost impossible to remove them with one.

  • 4

Slide the entire headlight assembly forward a few inches so that you can reach the back of it.

  • 5

Unscrew the plastic bulb socket assembly. This is the large, round component located right in the middle of the back of the main assembly. Turn it about a quarter turn to the left and you can pull it away from the main assembly. If you're replacing both the bulb and the main assembly, see the next section on how to replace the bulb, then resume this process

Absloutely... figure out which one it is (usually the one with the torn or split boot) and replace it!!! Instructions can easily be found in even the most inexpensive manuals found at local parts stores!
    Good luck
PS complete axles cost not much more than just joint ends! consider this... Big time saver!!!
