Change your fan clutch. Or if it's a electric fan have it checked. And make sure the outside of the radiator and a/c condenser is clean.

My 2004 Trailblazer overheated, ilooked under the hood to see the fan was wet. water in the radiator is still circulating. Is this a hole in the radiator or is it the water pump?

Check for the leak when running but not moving. Is the fan electric, and mounted on the radiator? If it is, I would suspect a radiator leak. You might pull the fan assembly off to get a closer look at the radiator.

It's possible that you have a bad head gasket. Have your cooling system pressure tested, see if it holds roughly 18lbs of pressure. Could also be air in system, did you bleed system when waterpump and thermostat were installed?

My 2004 TrailBlazer overheats in running only I changed acdelco water pump , thermostat and coolant water and still overheat

check your fan clutch, very typical problem on these 4.2L engines. These fan clutches are electronically controlled. Another issue may be clogged radiator.

Temperature control

The radiator cap is at the radiator where you refill the radiator with coolant. Unless it is leaking and you hear a hiss. It may not have anything wrong.Neither will the water pump.If the water pump is bad. It has a small hole that will make it start leaking .Check the engine for leaks at the intake or the water pump. You will know where it is leaking. When the thermostat was removed and hopefully replaced , did you bleed the system ? The system has to be bled to remove air pockets. Or the engine will overheat again. Also check that the radiator fan or fans is turning on . If not you may need to replace the temperature control sensor.(TPS)
