Question about 2001 Toyota Camry
Help Please....I have a 2001 Toyota Camry -4 cy. My check engine light came on and I have replaced hte following and it still keeps coming on. Replaced: EGR Valve, EGR Modulator, Catalytic Converter. My fiance is ASE Mechanic GM Trained, but not on Toyotas. He replaced the EGR stuff anf a nuffler shop did the converter. Fiance cleared codes, we went to emissions, and because we hadn't driven it enough it failed. He has scanned it and everything is within specs, but light still comes back on. HELP! What next? I can't afford to keep putting money into this issue/car. I have 117K miles on it. I truly appreciate your time and assistance. Thank you.
Have had similiar problem w. 2002 Highlander.
It happens when the airfilter comparment is touched, moved or opened. The hose attachment comes lose and the engine light comes on. Attached hose to airfilter casing a little tighter and the light will eventually go off. Takes about 2 weeks to go off.
