They did not put all the required oil in!...if at all. Yes, that is bearing material and remnants of the oil pump. You should learn to do this yourself.

Sounds like they did not put oil back into the car after they drained it, or if they did not enough. you can try to break the engine free with a 1/2 breaker bar on the main pulley, but to be perfectly honest the engine will have to be replaced as it may have broke a piston, shaft, basically it totaled the engine. For some reason it your husband does get it to break free and run, I would trade it on another vehicle. Hope this Helped Tim

Yes it is bearings, rings, and part of the cylinder. If the oil pump went out the motor would lock up. The oil pump pumps oil throughout the motor. If the pump quits, it is just like running the engine without any oil at all. Without oil pressure then the motor would lock up because nothing in the engine would get any lubrication. Don't think it has anything to do with the oil and filter. Probably just a faulty oil pump. I have heard of Walmart not putting oil back in cars, and causing them to lock up. But if you had oil in the car, and it has metal shavings, then it is more than likely the oil pump just quit.

When I start the engine first thing in the morning it makes a clattering sound, until it runs for a minute

the clattering is most likely valves rattling until the oil gets up to top of engine, recommend change the oil and filter, use a good filter like fram oil filter,i've always used castrol 30 weight oil in winter, then summer 40 weight, also recommend you add lucas oil treatment,1 bottle, add with your oil change for top end lubrication, the oil stays and clings onto valves and adds a whole lot more of top end lubrication to your engine than just regular oil.it's just a treatment,i have a 1994 ford explorer with 450.000 miles on it.just trying to see how far i can go with original motor.but i always use castrol oil, fram oil filter and always add lucas oil treatment every time i change my oil.thank you for choosing fixya.com good luck!

Oil lite comes on at low idle

will try to help but have to ask the question, have you checked the oil level with engine off? sorry, you most likely have, but had to ask. how long since last oil change? could be a clogged oil filter not letting oil flow fast enough. last but most expensive, oil pump may be going bad,or better yet,a weak oil sending unit. recomennd you change the oil and a good filter, such as a fram filter, and add one quart of lucas oil treatment to the oil change.lucas gives alot more top end lubrication to your engine than regular motor oil. try this before you move on to other issues please. and as always if we can assist you further, please repost your questuion and we will be happy to assist you! thank you for choosing fixya.com

Were is locate the oil filter for the borrego 2009 4.6

I have an '09 Borrego, the oil filter is located on the front of the motor below the harmonic balancer,
To access it remove the lower valenca panel under the front behind the bumper. There are 7 bolts holding the panel on, remove all 7 bolts and the panel will drop free. You will see the oil filter housing just above the sway bar and below the harmonic balancer. You can use a 1-1/16" socket and a 6"-12" extension to remove the filter cap. Make sure to get the V-8 filter, it is not the same as the 6 cyl filter.

i know that the ac delco number is PF 1218C for the 305, 350, and 454 (you did not specify your engine). they should have a cross reference book from delco to fram.

In some cases where the oil is not changed properly, the oil pump screen maybe plugging or your oil filter is defective. Fram is a good filter. If there is no problem found, replace the pressure sensor.

Change oil

you have to carefully put the car on ramps and for safety put supports behind rear wheels locate the drain pan making sure it is the engine oil and make sure the socket or wrench you use fits and the oil filter in over on the driver side it should be a PH2 Fram oil filter if you get it at Walmart or Napa or any auto parts place and if it is a 5.4 engine you will need 6 quarts of oil I use Valvoline but if you get it from Napa it is the same oil just a little cheaper

You need 4,6 qts of 5W-20 motor oil. If I were you I'd start right now to use synthetic oil. If you decide to do it - go with "The First in Synthetics" and the best: Amsoil! 5W-20 XL motor oil gives you (guaranteed) protection for 7.500 miles. (Do not fall for warranty cancellations or similar dealership spam. Magnuson-Moss act prohibts cancellations based on brand). Read this: http://people.msoe.edu/~yoderw/oilfilterstudy/oilfilterstudy.html or this: http://www.lesabret.com/filters/filter.html and try to avoid Fram filters. It seems that any other filter is better than Fram. I'd recommend Amsoil, Wix, Carquest (made by Wix), Mobil...
