SOURCE: Codes p0402 and p1443 96 ranger

this means exactly what it says, the emission control valve is faulty and needs replacing.
Basically the valve is in an open position when it should be shut or partially shut.
Replace the valve and this should cure both codes.

SOURCE: 96 ford explorer failed emissions

401 and 402 (EGR flow insufficient) are likely a failed DPFE sensor. (EGR sensor) reformulated gasoline eats them alive. fix that, and clear the codes. the 755 and 756 are transmission codes usually shift solenoids, or lockup converter.

SOURCE: failed emissions got p0301,p0402 please help

V6 or 4cyl????
P0301- #1 cylinder misfire -Old/Fouled Plugs -Faulty spark plug wires/distributor or rotor (4cylinder only) -Faulty cam/crank sensor (v6 only) -Faulty #1 ignition coil or coil electrical connector (V6 only) -#1 Compression loss
P0402- EGR Issue A code P0402 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:

  • The DPFE (differential pressure) sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced
  • There is a blockage in the EGR (most likely carbon buildup)
  • The EGR valve is faulty
  • The EGR valve may not be opening due to a lack of vacuum

Code p0402 comes up what do I do?

Code 402 means the EGR gas flow is excessive. On Ford products it could be the EGR valve or the sensor. Both components would need to be tested.

Trouble code p0402 is coming up on the scan tool, what is the problem?

On a domestic car using a scan tool, the trouble code p0440 is an Evaporative Emission Control System Malfunction. It can mean the gas cap is not installed or working right, the purge solenoid has failed, or the canister is plugged and not working right.

96 ford explorer failed emissions test with codes p0401,p0402,p0755,p0756

P0401
EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation. It is part of the vehicle emmissions system, and is used to reduce combustion temperature and pressure to control Oxides of Nitrogen. There are generally three parts to the EGR system: the EGR valve, an actuator solenoid, and a differential pressure sensor EGR (DPFE). These things work together to deliver the correct amount of recirculation based on engine temperature, load, etc. The P0401 code means that OBD detected an insufficient amount of EGR.

P0402
EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation. It is part of the vehicle emmissions system, and is used to reduce combustion temperature and pressure to control Oxides of Nitrogen. There are generally three parts to the EGR system: the EGR valve, an actuator solenoid, and a differential pressure sensor (DPF). There sound like a bad EGR and need replace it.

P0755 Shift Solenoid B Malfunction and P0756 Shift Solenoid B Performance or Stuck Off. First I suggtes check leve fluids and preventive maintenance.

Tell us news.
