this means exactly what it says, the emission control valve is faulty and needs replacing.
Basically the valve is in an open position when it should be shut or partially shut.
Replace the valve and this should cure both codes.

plz check the fuel and carborater first then go for silencer (if your car runned above 15000 kms got repair shop) even u can neglet, coz thees error come during winter sesion [they are related to carben and moister]

401 and 402 (EGR flow insufficient) are likely a failed DPFE sensor. (EGR sensor) reformulated gasoline eats them alive. fix that, and clear the codes. the 755 and 756 are transmission codes usually shift solenoids, or lockup converter.

V6 or 4cyl????
P0301- #1 cylinder misfire -Old/Fouled Plugs -Faulty spark plug wires/distributor or rotor (4cylinder only) -Faulty cam/crank sensor (v6 only) -Faulty #1 ignition coil or coil electrical connector (V6 only) -#1 Compression loss
P0402- EGR Issue A code P0402 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:
