How do i adjust my front drive shaft on my 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee? I'm trying to make it shorter.

The drive shafts on these Jeeps usually have a slip yoke. Usually if they are greased properly you can just slide the slipyoke back and forth.

    The only thing I can think of is just greasing it really good and keep working with it until you get it to free up. if its that dried out you may have to replace the packing inside the slip joint. Once you get it to move again it may be loose and cause vibration due to not being greased regularly

When driving my 96 jeep cherokee will shut down and it takes several mins for it to start back then it will do the same thing again what can it be


crank shaft sensor, as soon as car warms up, it will skip (engine stutter(, then when engine cools, so does crank shaft sensor. Good Luck

Transfer case? Front diff? HELP!!


Sounds like a transfer case problem. But I can't verify that from here. Coupler is inside the unit on the output shaft and needs teardown to get to it.

First you need a transfer case, then you need a shorter rear drive shaft. You need a front diff. same ratio as the rear diff. you need a front drive shaft. You need different trailing arms. Should I go on ?
