My wife drove my 1992 Honda Accord for approximately 4-5 miles with oil light on. Turns out the car was leaking.leaking its oil from timing chain area. Is there any engine damage?

Possibly, but I'd replace the leaking gasket/seal.
Also note, the Honda uses a timing belt (not a chain), and you don't want oil on the belt. If there's a chance the belt has gotten oil on it, you want to take the timing belt cover off, remove the belt, and clean all the oil covered parts. The oil can wear out the belt as well as cause the belt to slip timing

Use the oil dipsick, which is right located above the power steering pump, on the drivers side in the engine compartment.

I Don't know what type of oil to put in my 1992 honda accord

This is right from the owner's manual: Recommended Engine Oil: API Premium grade 5W-20 detergent oil . 5W-20 oil is formulated for yearround protection of your Honda, to improve cold weather starting, and to help your engine use less fuel. If 5W-20 oil is not available, a 5W-30 oil may be used. However, it should be replaced with 5W-20 at the next oil change. ---------- for more help in how to change oil and oil filter in your Honda car please click the link below. https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/om/AC0202/AC0202O00250A.pdf Thanks. I just want to see what the best oil type is for a 1992 Honda Accord EX that I just purchased. It has high miles 220,000 so I just want to make sure that when the time comes that I have the best oil in it.

THE BEST ALL AROUND OIL TO USE IS 10W30W, DON'T USE ANY HEAVIER OR YOU CAN DAMAGE THE ROD AND CRANK BEARINGS, ANY MAJOR BRAND, I LIKE VALVOLINE, HAVE USED IT FOR 40 YEARS, NEVER HAD AN ENGINE FAIL, AND I DRIVE VERY HARD..

1992 honda accord 245,000 miles oil light blinking while idling and once while I was driving the oil level is good. what could be the problem

Oil light relates to oil pressure, not oil level. If engine has not been rebuilt, it is safe to assume that it is nearing the end of its life. Low oil pressure light goes off on increased rpm´s , and hence, pressure goes up. You can extend the life a little bit by switching to heavy oils, such as 20W-50, but eventually it also wont be enough, and will start fouling the plugs. Check the oil level, because extremely low levels of oil can also produce a low pressure warning.

What type of oil can the 92 accord take

SAE 5W-30 only for the Engine It doesnt matter if its Synthetic or not..Hondas are well engineered to deal with "Normal" oil same with Fuel...87 Octane is fine..higher Octane is just a waste of money...Fancy engine oil would also be a waste of money...as for trans fluid or steering/brake fluid etc...Buy them at a Honda Dealership. they use a sightly different formula than the aftermarket counterparts. and allows for you car parts to last alot longer. Engine oil is the only exception to this.. Hope this helps.
