Also the console latch I have the front end loose but do not know how to get the latch facing off at teh back. Lastly, drivers door window vertical guide is broken, have the part and I am pretty sure the interior door pannel removal is consistant with the passanger door lock pannel removal. Can you help me??

The interior door panel removal. REMOVAL
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the bezel near the inside door latch release handle by inserting a straight-bladed screwdriver in the notched end and prying gently upwards.
Front Door Trim Panel Remove/Install
3. Remove the door trim panel mounting screw located in the bezel opening near the inside door latch release handle.
4. Remove the trim cap and screw near the rear of the door armrest.
5. Remove the trim cap and screw at the upper front corner of the trim panel.
6. Using a wide flat-bladed tool such as a trim stick, pry the trim panel away from the door around the perimeter and remove the trim panel.
NOTE: To aid in the removal of the trim panel, start at the bottom of the panel.
7. Unplug the wire harness connectors from the door module and set the trim panel aside.
8. Pull the watershield away from the rear access holes in the inner door panel.
9. Remove the U-clip retainer that secures the lock cylinder to the outer door panel.
10. Disconnect the lock cylinder rod from the door latch by unsnapping the retainer from the rod.
Door Disarm Switch
11 Pull the lock cylinder out from the outer door panel far enough to pry the lock cylinder switch off of the back of the lock cylinder.
12. Unplug the lock cylinder switch wire harness connector and remove the switch from inside the door.
13. Reverse the removal procedures to install.
----------- You can remove the inner door panels to access components inside the door:----Roll the window all the way down. If your Jeep has manual windows, remove the window-crank handle. Slide a crank-handle removal tool between the crank handle and the door panel, pushing the C-clip out from the back of the handle. Pull the handle straight off the shaft. Locate the four retaining screws from the door panel. There are three in the armrest, two in the face of it and in the top, and one in the trim bezel behind the inside door handle. Pull the inner door handle as if you were opening the door and slide the trim bezel off over it. Set the bezel aside to avoid damage to it. Move to the bottom edge of the door panel and pry the panel loose using a trim stick or flat pry bar.Pull the panel out about one-half inch and lift it up and off the top of the door. If you have electric windows or locks, reach behind the panel, then unplug the wiring-harness connector from the window and lock switches. Lift the panel away from the door and set it aside.---------

First thing is to try passenger door (that still has key lock for '03, doesn't it?) Or the rear hatch. I'll bet it won't work there, either, unless battery is disconnected. My guess is that the remote locking is staying at "lock" - which is why it works with battery disconnected.
I haven't heard of anything just like your problem, but there have been many who have to replace the RKEM (Remote Keyless Entry Module) - it's behind the radio. Usually the doors start to lock & unlock by themselves.

Passanger door wont lock

possibly- you will need to take off the door panel. Look all around the panel for screws securing the panel. Usually the are near the door inside handle and securing the armrest. also check around the outside edges sometimes there are screws there too. Once the panel is off with the window up you can carefully pull off the plastic seal and see the door outer hadle and lock cylinder. These are attached by rods to the latch assembly. Make sure nothing is obstructing the movement of these. It is possible for the rod to come loose in which case you need to replace it and snop a small conector that holds the rod. the rods are l shaped on the ends - the end goes into the connector and then it spins around and snaps onto the rod.If this helps please reply and good luck

The power door locks on my 2003 Honda Pilot for both the drivers and passangers side do not work. I have to manually raise and lower the locks. The fob and the swith on the door do not work. Help

The Power locks actuators need to be replaced. I did on my front passenger door already. A friend of mine had to do it in the 2 passenger side doors. The part is the whole door latch mechanism. You will need a hand impact driver to remove the 3 screws on the door jamb.

Doors not locking

had a similar problem. remote would not work doors and inside switch would not work on passsanger side. There is a part below the passanger side door window and lock switch called the PDM or passanger door module.capable of some really strange behavior as it basically is a mini computer and rf signal receiver. May try reprograming your remotes first, if that doesn't work get new PDM. need to give VIN to parts folk to get it. Think it was about 200.00. Need to remove passanger side door panel and then take apart armrest with door swithes. Kind of tricky. funky screw on the front which has to be loosened and door panel must be off to get to it. anyway after install reprogram the remotes to the PDM. It involves off on, off,on ignition while holding down the unlock door switch, then hold the unlock on the remote?????? the sequence in on the net just search it out for your year.

i assume for 02 explorer not th 05 frestyle listed (although similar procedure)
Remote Transmitter Programming NOTE: All remote transmitters are programmable and must be set at the same time.
  1. Make sure that the anti-theft system is not armed or triggered and key code programming is not active.
  1. Open the door, then press the driver door lock control switch UNLOCK button.
  1. Turn the key from OFF to ON 8 times within 10 seconds, with the eighth turn ending in ON. If the program mode is sucessfully entered the doors will lock and unlock to confirm.
  1. Press any button on a remote transmitter, and the doors will lock and then unlock all doors to confirm that the remote transmitter is programmed. All remote transmitters must be programmed within 20 seconds of each other. Up to four remote transmitters can be programmed to the vehicles security module each time programming mode is entered.
  1. If the door locks do not respond for any remote transmitter, wait several seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still fail to respond, refer to Locks, Latches and Entry Systems — Late Build or Locks, Latches and Entry Systems — Early Build in this section.
  1. NOTE: Exiting is acknowledged by locking and unlocking the doors if at least one remote transmitter has been programmed.
Exiting the programming mode is accomplished if one of the following has occurred:
    • The key transitions to OFF.
    • 20 seconds have passed since entering programming mode or since the last remote transmitter was programmed.
    • Four remote transmitters have been programmed.
