Is difficult to fill gas tank

Gas pump nozzles have a device in the end that when gasoline runs back up into it, it turns off the fuel flow." There's a tiny hole near the bottom of the gas pump nozzle connected to a small tube.
Normally, air flows through that tube while you're filling and the gas keeps flowing as long as you hold down on the trigger. When that hole gets covered by gasoline (when your tank is full), a vacuum forms inside the nozzle and an automatic shutoff switch gets tripped, turning off the flow of gas with a thunk. Next time your fueling up try to reposition the nozzle.

Not able to input gas

a lot of times it is something clogged in the input air flow tube, (rust build up, dust, dirt) try pulling it back a little so the air can flow back out as the gas fills in. problem is the gas stations are making the flow back shut off systems more sensitive, this is a problem on the older vehicles i have the same problems with all my chevy/gmc box trucks at work.

When trying to fill the gas tank the gas spits out even though the tank is not full

you cannot use the autofill guns as they are too quick.only fill manually and try twisting gun to one side when filling.(there is a restrictor in the tank that stops flow if car overturned.)

When I fill-up my ford contour the gas pump keeps clicking off. can only put in a little gas at a time

Check the vent tube which is alongside the gas fill tube. It's either kinked, bent, pinched, or some how blocked, not allowing easy flow of gas into the tank. Once the tube is open, you will not have trouble. You don't give the year, it's possible it needs to be replaced (comes as a unit with the fill tube) if rusting badly.

Everytime i try to fill my tank at the pump it

pull the nozzel out a little and don't squeeze the handle for full force. The more you squeeze the faster gas will flow the less you squeeze the slower the flow(to much flow)

Gas tank over flows when filling up

There is a tube that run down into the tank inside the fill pipe, it vents air as the tank is filled, if it is blocked your problem occurs, most likely it is kinked.
