We have had similar problems with 2007 SX4 for 18 months - engine light on intermittently, sometimes days, sometimes weeks, cruise control disabled when light is on. Suzuki dealer has replaced O2 sensors twice, suggested catalytic converter needs replacement ($1200) but was not certain of cause or remedy. Finally dealer has removed fuel tank and fuel pump to reveal dirty fuel filter. Dealer states dirty fuel as cause which is not their problem as they cannot control fuel quality. Dealer wants $1200 to replace pump but no guarantee it won't occur again with first new tank of fuel! Could make for very expensive driving.

Fuel sensor

The cruise control was probably terminated by the computer sensing a code. I would start by seating your gas cap and making sure its good and tight. then reset code and see if it comes back into full use.

Does my 2007 suzuki sx4 awd have a timing belt or chain?

the engine type answers that.
they have many optional engine
discover what engine you have, the VIN has an engine code.
or look here.
or google all engines for SX4 and look there, and see what it is.

belts at 60k miles
chains when they make noise, if changd oil every 5k, the chain can go
200k or way more.
filthy oil kills chains and the whole engine for that matter.

I'm getting a loud knocking/clicking noise @ about 2-3 rpm in my 2007 sx4, I use 5-30 synthetic and have recently changed it to see if it would help, but the noise is still there. The shop forman said he...

I don't recommend using synthetic oil on any vehicle and some manufacture does not even recommend synthetic due to it viscosity. they are excellent oil but have seen and heard it has torned up allot of oil pump and some engine. The only benefits you get from synthetic is that the oil tend to last a bit longer in extreme heat and does not break down as quick with the original oil and you don't have to change the oil often. synthetic is very thin oil does the job, during start up i don't think synthetic give the engine that protection it needed when it come to lubrication; again that my personal belief. They now offer 50/50 oil instead running 100% synthetic. If your car still under factory warranty, I would take it to them and have them look at the vehicle. keep in mind, if the car in still under full factory warranty and you have non Suzuki mechanic touch the car it will void the warranty completely.

2007 Suzuki sx4 engine light on after oil changed, How to turn it off?

The solution is that when the oil filter is removed, oil gets on the O2 sensor and ruins it. Must cover the O2 and that keeps the oil off. To keep the check engine light off, is to replaced the O2 sensor. Problem solve. Later on sx4's they move the O2 in a different spot. I work on Suzuki cars. Don
