Im idling at the light in my 2000 Dakota R/T and all of a sudden my check engine light comes on and the engine develops a miss and starts to smoke. Diag code says misfire in #5 cyl and there is a rich raw fuel smell from exhaust. I have 175K trouble free miles and have checked compression which reveals worn but good piston rings.I replaced head gaskets and of course still exists. When I got a hand to crank while I checked voltage at each injector, #5 showed higher than the rest at all times without dropping to zero, so i'm replacing the ECM which controls signals to injectors. Oh yeah I replaced #5 injector before voltage check to no avail. Tell me if you think Im on the right track replacing ECM.

How do i fix error code p1698 on 2001 dodge intrepid?

This no communication between the ECM and TCM. I believe there is 1 wire for com links. This wire needs check for continuity between both. Wiring diagram or pinouts for plugs. If it checks good(less than 5.0 ohms) Then it has to go on a scanner. If you can read the ECM, the TCM is bad. and vice versa..

I have a 98 s-10 4.3 it will turn over but won't start it will start for a sec I have fuel and pressure up to intake have even tried running jumper wires to the fuse box for coil ecm ICM

Do you have spark ? take a plug wire off of a spark plug an hold it near ground (metal on the engine ) An have someone crank the engine . Is there spark ? No ,Get yourself a wire diagram http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Check power an grounds To components with volt meter . If you don't know how to do this there are videos on youtube , Basic electrical trouble shooting , how to read wiring diagrams etc... Check out scanner Danner videos , he is an instructor (teacher ) of automotive ignition , fuel , OBD2 , etc... You don't jump B+ voltage to any component unless you know for sure . It's to easy to short out PCM/ECM if you don't know .

You have no communication with your ECM, it could be the ECM itself or a Can-bus wiring problem. You will have to check continuity on your CAN wiring from the ECM to the gateway, you will need wiring diagram. Should be able to find those on the internet or some parts stores offer them free

I think the 2004 Accent only came with a 1.6 liter engine as far as I know. In any case below is as much information I have as far as your code including a wiring diagram of that circuit (CMP sensor). The wiring diagram doesn't tell the wire colors but does tell you where the wire goes or what "pin" number it is at the connectors. I included the connectors which is by number and marked the ECM connector for you. I had a picture of the CMP sensor location but not the ECM location but can tell you the ECM connector is located behind the dash fuse panel. Hope this helps....

Colors of wires of MAF sensor in 2001 VW golf gti vr6

2001 VW Golf GTi VR6
On the MAF sensor connecting plug you will see 5 pin numbers. Each pin number correspond to a wire color:
Pin no.# 1 = violet/green, is comming from pin no.# 26 of ECM. ECM = Engine Control Module.
Pin no.# 2 = blue/yellow, is comming from fuse no.# 43 = 10 Amp. (battery plus is comming through a blue wire from pin no.# 23 of fuel pump relay).
Pin no.# 3 = green, is comming from pin no.# 27 of ECM.
Pin no.# 4 = red/violet, is comming from pin no.# 53 of ECM.
Pin no.# 5 = black, is comming from pin no.# 29 of ECM.

The check engine light is on. i tried talking with the ECM with a mt 2500 snap-on scanner.the scanner reads no communication. do the haynes manuals have wiring diagrams, and because the ECM;S are under the...

Check the fuses. you will have one for ecm, also check the cigarette lighter fuse. they some times the dlc in with that fuse. it is best to remove the fuse when checking, I have found that they loose contact and removing them fixes problems. Haynes manuals do have electrical for the computers.

No fire to one of the coils which supplies 2 plugs engine light on and running on 4 of 6 cly.

Several possibilities. Internal coil failure, wiring or connection problem, computer is not functioning properly to energize the coil pack. Which two cylinders? I gather the Check Engine light scan reveals misfire codes (DTC) P030? and P030?
Check out the wiring diagram:
f44e6bb.jpg
dde5042.jpg 78bd4d6.jpg Problem could be here or at the ECM connection. If not, then the coil pack has gone bad.

The cilynder #1 and spark plug is wet with gas,I did chenged the injector an fuel pressure regulator, still the same engine is shaking, nissan sentra 1993

Did you change the spark plug?? Your car (1993) has a distibutor assy, which means it has ignition wires for each plug. How are your wires??cap?? rotor?? Have you ever done ignition tune up?? If the answer is yes and you have already installed new injector and pressure regulator (althoug it still could be a injection issue/ECM or computer, because ECM is what drives the injectors. If the ECM or wiring to #1 injector has an issue, the injector will not fire off and put gas into the cylinder, resulting in a misfire.) Remove #1 injector connector and check to see if you have power/12V on one side of the connector. If you have 12V there, than check the other wire for continuity to the ECM. You will need wiring diagram to find the right wire color at the ECM. That other wire goes into the ECM to the driver which opens and closes the injector depending on your demands as far as gas pedal input. That driver may be bad, causing the injector not to shoot gasoline. Than I would be looking into a engine issue, such as burned valve, or head gasket problem (coolant getting into #1 cylinder, flooding your spark plug). Tough to diagnose over the computer and not looking at it my self. Let me know what you find.
