You should get a mechanic's manual for this, but I will walk you through the steps:
1.bleed the fuel rail of pressure at the valve on rail
2.undo all the harness connectors from each injector and label their position
3.unbolt the fuel rail from the block/manifold
4. wiggle and pull the rail unit from each side carefully as not to damage the injectors
5.one at a time remove clip that retains injector to rail and separate from rail
6.remove old o-rings (a dental tool or similar is helpful, but do not scratch or score injector body)
7.install o-rings with auto trans fluid as a lubricant carefully into rail and seat fully before attaching clip
8.clean and lubricate each port in intake manifold before attempting to install each rail as a unit
9. use care and patience as you wiggle the unit into a fully seated position checking all four injector positions as you go
10.torque bolts to specifications,reinstall harness
11. when done, turn on key breifly to allow pump to pressurize system and bleed air from rail, repeat
12.start motor and allow to run while checking for leaks

any other questions-just reply, should be around all day...MK

You unbolt the entire fuel rail from the intake manifold and pull it up gently. You can leave the rail connected to the fuel supply hose. You may need to remove the connectors as well to get it up high enough to change the o-rings. use a little oil or grease on the orings to slip them back in the same way you pulled it out. If you have more questions, let us know.

Why won't it crank?

You need to check the fuel pressure regulator. If it is malfunctioning it won't allow enough fuel to the injectors or too much.

Fuel around fuel injectors

If you have fuel coming out from around the injectors it usually means the oring on the injector (s) is bad. Remove the injector(s) and replace the orings.

How to remove fuel injector #3 diagram

Hi, the picture shown is the driver's side of the engine. Go to the passenger's side and remove the 2 similar screws holding the fuel rail. Disconnect all of the injector connectors on that side. Raise the rail up carefully until the injectors come free from the manifold. #3 is third back from the front of the engine. Twist and pull it out of the fitting on the rail. Oil the oring on the new injector and twist it in. Oil all of the lower orings and slip the injectors back into the manifold. Replace the 2 fuel rail bolts and reconnect the injectors. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Why does my car smell like gas & uses way too much gas and is leaking gas on my engine out of a line?

I don't know if your stating that gas is leaking on your engine but anyways....other than the bad syntax in your sentence. You may have leaky injectors and there maybe too much fuel getting into your combustion chamber and getting stuck around the catalytic converter which will give you really bad gas mileage, smell like fuel and destroy you Cat.Converter. Start with injectors to see if they are leaking and check all fuel lines thoroughly. Also check your charcoal canister (black canister on the firewall) to see if its broken, cracked or leaking anything. If its very strong. Check near the tank itself. If you ever see fuel on the ground when you fill your tank, you may have a torn line at the tank or the seal around the gas tanks fuel sending unit is leaking is leaking. Good luck Plz rate

I removed the injector and fuel regulator assembly from the motor all in one piece, and left the electrical lines attatched in an attempt to see if the injectors were working. I attempted to start the van...

Yes, if everything is still connected properly, except that the injectors are no longer seated int he valve head, then you should see little spurts of gas coming from them when the engine turns over.

Be aware though, that it might not be your fuel injectors that are the problem. You need to finish checking the rest of the car before making that assumption.

Once you know the injectors aren't firing, you need to check the fuel filter and the fuel pump to make sure the gas is getting from the tank to the injectors.

You should have a fuel filter located on the passenger side of your car near the gas tank. Follow the gas lines under the car to find it. It is good to change it anyways, but you can check to see if gas is coming from the tank to the filter by removing the rear line

** BE CAREFUL, Gasoline is EXTREMELY irritating to the eyes and skin, and it WILL come out when you remove the line from the filter***

If it is coming from the tank to the filter you don't have to check your pump. Then replace the rear gas line, and remove the front gas line going to the engine and make sure the filter spits out gas while the engine turns over as well.

If there is no gas getting to the fuel filter, you will need to check your fuel pump, which should be located inside the gas tank. You can check it by getting under the car while you have a friend turn the key to the "on" position, but not starting the car. Do this 4 to 6 times to make sure you hear a little "Click, woosh" type sound that lets you know the pump is triggering.

If you have gas coming from the tank, through the filter and it is still not coming through the injectors, then you will need to rebuild your fuel injectors.

This is not hard to do, and consists mostly of changing the little gaskets in the injectors. But be aware that there are lots of small parts and the job cannot be rushed. Also be aware that lumina fuel injection systems are very sensitive. Make sure to disconnect your battery cables before removing the injectors from the system.

96 S-10, 2.2 liter 4 cyl with MFI, fuel injectors are leaking

I have seen 2 reasons they will seep. Orings not seating and the hold down just a little bent. Are the orings specifically for these injectors and have you tried using some silicon lubricant not adhesive to hold lower oring in place and to lubricate the upper oring that is actually the outer seal?

you just need to remrber at the top of the injector is the fuel rail. that is what hold the injector in place. also remember that the fuel rail has pressure . so you need to be careful . also this area need to cleaned with air pressure . just remember the bottom of the injector sticks right into the intake manifold .there are a couple of bolt that hold the fuel rail in place. remove the bolts and pry off the rail. there is a special oring on the top and bottom of the injector. some times they will come off whenyou pull the injector. so make sure you know where these are at. if you loose one or if they are in bad shape auto part stores have these.. switch your injectors. when you stick the injectors back in you have to pull every injector on that rail. and lube the orings so they will slide into place.
its realy not to hard just takes time and need to be clean good luck.
