Are the bulbs good?

If your low and high beams are on the same bulb, then the low beam elements have blown even though the high beam still works, you need two new bulbs.

check the multi function switch.where the wires go into the switch may be melted.the low beam feed wire is probably melted off.try tilting the steering may find they come on at a curtain spot.this is a common problem.happened on my 2000 chevy truck.

Change Headlight Bulbs

You have to remove the air intake filter and then kind of reach around up in there to change it. It can be done, but is a lot of work. Then you can just sort of reach in and change both headlights. A very big pain to change a couple of headlights. Make sure not to touch the glass on the light because the oil on your skin can cause it to fail sooner. Headlights on my 1998 gmc 1500 cargo van will not work. I have checked the battery connection and do not know what the problem is...Please help

If your truck will start then it isn't the battery connection. If both quit working at the same time then id suspect a bad switch. However you might want to also check the bulbs. Also check that both low beams and High beams don't work. Always check the obvious first, like the fuses.

check your headlamp your switch on the dash or part of the turn signal have a thing with plastic switches and metal contacts these switchs have a tendency to melt..also check for grounds.was the vehicle in a accident involving the front end.if you changed your headlamps to 80/100 watts bulbs.the circuit breaker may not work hence the switch melts.

2008 gmc truck, Low beams quit working. I have High beams and running lights only

It's probably unlikely that both bulbs would go out at the same time, but the first thing I would do is replace at least one of the bulbs with a new bulb.

If that's not the problem, there is a problem with the electrical circuit. There are relays that control the headlights, and the switch itself could have gone bad.
