Remove the 8 bolts that hod in the tranny. Remove the drive axle from tranny. You can go to autozone.com and register for a free account.
After you register for an account. Then login to the account, choose year, make, and model and then click on view repair manual to view a free repair manual to know anything you need to know about your car.

Just got trans changed on my 1993 ford taurus sho and now my overdrive off light will not light up when button is push to turn overdrive off.

this is a common issue on these cars and since you just had the trans replaced, whoever did the work needs to check the connections at the switch and at the trans-and these switched go bad, but the fact that it was just done to too much of a coincidence.

The shift soleniods are located in the transmission case and are accessed by removing the transmission pan and no you don't have to remove the tire unless you are going to remove the half-shaft.

Solenoid pack in trans. Position module,is just that. Wrong guess. What tran model do you have? You also have other sensors to consider but have to know the trans your working on and the computer and shift stratagy involved to solve this, even if your throwing parts at it.

1999 Ford Taurus 4.3L SHO with leaking transmission seal

Nope. You can lift the car and drop the cradle and try that but no matter what you will need to seperate the two from each other to r/r seal. Try Lucas trans treatment for leak. That may help. Depending on how bad leak is.
