The windshield washer line detached. How do you reattach it without removing the hood?

Needle nose, make sure that the washer nozzle itself has not broken off. if there is a hard piece of plastic inside of the rubber hose you will need to replace the washer nozzle.

Washer fluid not coming out

I believe there are two hoses coming off the "elec pump" attached to the near bottom of the fluid container. One hose might be detached or clogged.

I doubt you'll be able to see the electric pump from under the hood looking down sooooo,

If the container is on the passengers side, Start the car and turn the steering wheel to the left (Then shut off the car) to give you room to remove the plastic undercover and check out the pump which should be directly behind it.

Remove a few plastic clips or machine screws holding the undercover plastic up in the wheel well and pull enough of the plastic down or away to get a good look at the electric pump and hoses. It's probably working whereas you said fluid reaches the rear window but- if you could have someone be inside the car turning the "washer" on, you, being very close to the pump, should hear a whinning sound which would be the pump. Maybe you can detect if there is a problem at the pump or the hose connector. Try pulling off one hose at a time to see if fluid comes out of each. I suspect one hose needs to be cleaned out or maybe it's cracked not allowing the fluid to get to it's destination.

Any plastic part that is broken will require getting a new
piece at the dealers parts counter

I would go there & have the parts folks come out & look at
what you need & your daughter hopefully can replace it

Hi,

simple way to tell is to buy a small tube and attach it to the motor of the washer which is on the water tank and push it. If it comes out then you will have no problem knowing.

Unfortunately, the tubes may be fine but the connectors that split the tubes are plastic that wears over time and if they loose enough pressure, the wipers will not work.

Happy Motoring.

2002 Pontiac Sunfire windshield washer fluid sprays under the hood when used, what is the problem? The fluid still comes through the wiper blades but most of it under the hood.

The hose that the fluid runs through has a hole in it or one of the little plastic hose connectors has sprung a leak or is partially disconnected.

The hose which feeds washer fluid to the hood sprayer has broken off right at the point of connection. Do you think I may need to replace the hood sprayer?

No. Remove any hose remaining and replace it with a new hose. Attach to the sprayer and you should be good to go.

Washer fluid not working

There is a fluid "pump" that is generally below the washer fluid reservoir under the hood. To check if the pump is bad try to spray some fluid and have someone listen under the hood while you are doing this. If they hear a hum or the system sounds like it is active but you are getting no fluid spraying out then you probably have a kink or stoppage. The spray nozzles are right below the windshield wipers and sometimes a piece of debris has lodged itself in. You can take a safety pin or something similar and try to get it out that way. If not you may have to take the hose apart and clean it that way. Hope this works for you.
