Question about 2002 Chevrolet Blazer
I believe the problem is much greater than just your starter, sorry to say. So many systems were overloaded that internal damage was possibly and likely done to the circuitry of the security/ keyless system for the car to start and starter remain engaged.
My advice is this- for the safety of your family:
If it starts and seems to be OK, before you take it anywhere ( I would have it towed), take it immediately to a GM certified or reputable shop and have a thorough diagnostic of all systems performed- you dont need another fire or system failure while your driving!

1. Locate the red two wire programming connector located near the central
locking control module. Behind LH lower instrument panel.
2. Inside the red programming connector you will see two pins.
Jump the two pins with a section of wire. A paper clip bent in a "U" shape will also work.
3. System should now lock and unlock doors to indicate vehicle has entered
4. Press any button on keyless remote once. System should now lock and unlock
