Most likely a problem with the linkages, if it goes into all gears. I thhink you got it right with linkages.

What causes hard sticky shifting on 5-speed manual transmission. The manual transmission was almost 1/2 quart low when I changed the gear oil.

If the shift lever is what is hard & sticky, get some grease & lube the handle at the joint at the trans. ( Maint. anyway) . The right gear oil? Was it doing it before the oil chg ? How's the clutch feel? Clutch, Pressure plate & throw out bearing poss. Smell any burning smells? One step at a time. Good luck

Manuel trans shifter tough too shift

if you getting a good pressure from the clutch pedal, change out the shifter bushing, that will help some. if you get a poor pressure from the clutch pedal, pressure plate has weaken, need to change out you pressure plate, throw out bearing, since your in the clutch system i would change out the pad also. Old vehicle and high miles, heavy trucks, its common. also check the slave cylinder, make sure it good working operations. worn rubber seal inside slave cylinder will cause a blow-by when press down the pedal therefore, causing to have a weak clutch pedal and hard to shift/engage into gear, same way goes for weak pressure plate. Good luck!!

2000 yr.isuzu 250 kb diesel has a noise coming from gearbox area when moving into 5th gear

Its a manual trans right? Those are probably worn syn rings in the transmission, or a loose throw out bearing on the clutch. but if it was a throw out bearing it should be happening in all gears. So its probably worn sync rings in the trans. this means you need your trans rebuilt. go to a local trans shop. to make it shift easier for now, try to match the speed of the car with the speed of the engine. what i mean is when upshifting to 5th gear, wait for a sec til the engine drops in rpms to shift (wait til the rpms are they would be right after you shift into gear). This will allow you to shift without syncs, and make it an easier shift. don't worry its easier then it sounds. but best to get it fixed

Manual transmission noise

It's most likely your throw-out bearing. It's located very inconveniently on the front shaft of the transmission and the way to remove and replace is to pull the tranny from the car... While you're at it, inspect the clutch and pressure plates and the pilot bushing (located in the center of the flywheel).
