Question about 2005 Pontiac G6
G6s are bad about the connector to the bulbs getting hat and melting the wires together. 10 bucks for a replacement connector should help you out.

How do I replace the headlight socket on a 2008 Pontiac G6 GT 4 door sedan

Real interesting... there should be no relation to the "drive" and the head light. current drawn by the starter causes the lights to go out or dim. Check the headlamp relay and for corrosion on connector to lamp assemblies in the engine compartment. On back of assemblies there is a large diameter plastic retainer after you remove the wire clip. Turn counter clockwise and pull back. a wire clip should retain the bulb itself
