Oil pouring down from above the oil pan when engine is started

Could be a bad valve cover gasket, a leaking oil filter or a leaking oil pressure switch.

How can i stop my truck from leaking oil so bad?

good day... try to see where its coming from but i believe that its coming from the crank case or your oil pan drainage is a little loose. try to replace the oil pan gasket if it comes from the crank case. tighten the oil drainage if its a little loose. hope this helps. have a nice day

Hello , We have a 2002 highlander and it smokes periodically when it's started and uses oil . Then it will stop smoking and using oil for a couple of weeks and then start again for a week or two .It seems...

It sounds like classic valve seal failure to me. When parked and cooled off the bad seal (s) allow oil to leak past the seal and into the combustion chamber (s). After the engine is run it burnes off the oil until it parked again. This also happens to many engines that have been in storage allowing the seals to dry out.

I have a 1996 jeep cherokee thats leaks trans fluid when i drive for awhile. It pours onto the catalytic converter and smokes like crazy

check the cooling lines and also the rear seal, also see if the leak is coming from the oil pan gasket.

Over heating

i would guess a blown headgasket....check for a sweet radiator fluid smell from the exhaust pipe. this is bad news if it is. If the head gasket fails several things can develop. This gasket separates the oil jets...coolant jets and the top of the compression chamber from each other. when it fails..sometimes you lose a little compression...sometimes you leak oil...sometimes oil leaks into your combustion chamber (oil burns) or oil and coolant can leak into each other...(an oil slick in your coolant resevoir and or a milky residue on your oil cap from coolan mixing with your oil).If it has blown from the combustion chamber into your coolant, then when it draws in also sucks in some water..(thus the sweet smelling exhaust) then when the combustion starts then it also forces some of that explosion through that little leak-hole into your coolant system...causing excessive pressure...then also an air pocket forms from the exhaust. this repeats very often...then when you rev your engine suddenly you have a boil over... i hope this helps you...i hope its not a blown heasket...its around 600-1200 bucks to get it fixed depending on the car. there is a product on the market that might fix it by adding it to your radiator fluid...but i have heard very little REAL info on how good it works...i personally question all "Mechanics in a Bottle" type fixes
