Freon has not been in automotive use for some time, the fill is a shrader style valve similar to the tire ,only larger on refrigerant lines leading to radiator, it is capped. Best advice is to leave this type of work to professionals, errors could lead to a lot of damage...

If you need to add refrigerant, you have a leak, and if you can even get any in the system, which is doubtful,it will leak out and pollute the atmosphere.

The pressure switch is right next to the battery negative terminal. To bypass the switch, remove the connector and use a paperclip to jump the terminals inside the connector. By the way, you need to put oil in the system, or the seals will quickly dry out.

Were to put freon in at the fist hook up or second

Your system has R134A Freon. The good news is those two couplings are different sizes. The refill can connector will only connect to the low side which is the proper side to refill the AC System.

Cant find where to put freeon in 02 focus,no service connector to hook up to.

1.-first take a look in the a/c accumulator for a valve that is able to connect freon hose.
2.-if you don't see it over there, look for it, in an alluminum pipe that it comes from this accumulator.
3.-plug it in there and make sure to turn the a/c on and set it to the coolest and highest speed while and before start refilling, good luck!

Where do you put the freon

freon is added to the low pressure side. The adaptor will only fit this connection, the high pressure connection is a larger connector. You shouldn't just add freon without checking the high pressure side - you can still overpressurize the system, and this will cause your compressor to kick-off on high pressure.

Need to know how to fix air conditioning in a 1992 saturn sl

Charge the a/c as over time (you have an 18 year old car) the freon leaks out. I think around 1992 they were switching over to the quick connectors. If you don't have the quick connector, then get the kit to upgrade from Walmart or you local auto parts store.

If the compressor won't engage after putting a can of freon in, then you have an electrical problem. If you have that problem check for voltage with a test light at the compressor (do not get caught in the belts).

Check for blown fuses if the electrical system isn't working, like the clutch for instance, not engaging.

The car has been sitting for almost a year. I started it today to drive out of necessity. The A/C clutch does not engage. How do i jumper across the pressure switch to add freon? Thanks, Ken

dont!!! an you start to add freon, itll start to cycle the compresor clutch until within safe operating pressure and then it will hold clutch in constant. charge liquid(with can upside down). if wont take freon in this manner than your more than low on charge. running low on charge will quickly destroy pump, especiallt those old harrisons. the refrigerant also cools the compressor. good luck and wear gloves-

The Low side Connector port is located on the A/C compressor itself. This is on the bottom of driver's side of engine. You must jack up car and remove access panel behind aluminum wishbone of a arm.
