Question about 2006 Volkswagen Jetta
Never heard of that before - the only times you change a door latch is when it has been damaged or the grip plate is badly adjusted. Has your car been in an accident or someone tried to steal it? If it's the plate that is out of position and the latch doesn't properly engages it why they haven't adjusted it?
And almost $1,000 for a 2 hour job and $180 in parts is way too much - they aren't polishing it with gold. Get another dealer, this one can't be trusted. Or you could even find a local repair shop that could do the same job for less than half , or even less if you decide to use second-hand parts.
