However, hitting a deer sounds like it activated the fuel cut off switch (if it has one). Research all these links

Battert is charged up but car will not start

Could you rephrase your info and add if the engine is cranking and will not start or if the engine does not make any sounds or what sounds it makes (if any).

Check your brake lights when pressing the brake pedal to see if they are lighting. One problem any Ford made vehicle can have is a switch on the brake pedal lever can be hit with the Drivers feet and it moves or breaks the part.

But this would not be the case if the engine turns when you put the key to the START position.

Another KEY problem in Ford made vehicles is the Inertia switch. This is a resettable safety switch for cutting off the fuelpump power.

It may be behind the front kickpanels or inside the trunk. This depends on the Year and model vehicle. It can create a mysterious no start condition because it cuts off power to the fuelpump.

My fuel pump keep cut off, everytime I turn the van off

Yes that is what should happen. Did you hit something with the car or get hit? That is what triggers the switch.

Drove mpv off curb/ sidewalk, wont start now, turns over but suddenly wont start! Is there a switch somewhere that shuts off fuel system that needs to be reset, from the hard hit?

there is a fuel cut off, you will need to reset it:

The fuel pump relay is located under the carpet on the passenger side (front). Remove the kick panel and the door runner lift carpet. It is to the right of the PCM (computer). Good Luck Tim

CAR DOESN'T START, I HIT A BUMB AND THE CAR SHUT OFF, WHEN I TURN THE KEY NOTHING HAPPENS, RADIO, LIGHTS COME ON

Some vehicles have a fuel pump cut off switch that shuts all power to fuel pump in case of an accident. It activates by inertia...meaning that a severe "bump" will activate switch, thereby cutting off the fuel pump. If your vehicle has that switch, hitting that bump may have activated switch. If you do have that switch, reset it by pressing in the reset button.

Engine wont start help please!!!!!

you have tripped the inertia switch, (there to cut off the fuel pump in the event of a collision), you need to reset the switch by simply pressing it back in.

I hit a small bump. My car cut off and would not start back. It will turn over but will not crank.

hi its probably the fuel cut off switch. in an impact an enerchia switch will cut off the fuel pump. your local dealer will tell you where its fitted and its just a push of the switch and away it will go.

Ford Explorer 1998 will not start

Does it just turn over and over?
Try the inercia switch... It's a fuel pump cut off switch, located on the passanger kick pannel.
You will have to pull the carpet back. It is a black box, with a red button on top. The button should be pushed in.....
