My brake lights dont work when i press the brake pedal. i have checked the bulbs, fuse and replaced the brake switch. still not working. what should i do?
Remove a bulb and have someone step on the brake pedal. Use a volt meter or test light to see if there is power at the bulb socket. This will at least tell you where to head for the next step.
why was brake light switch replaced? you need to check things before replacement. is the brake light switch getting power? if not the fuse is blown. if it is getting power, is power going out? if so, check for power at the bulbs, if no power find out why, if the bulbs do have power, they are not getting ground. the ground wire is in trunk, I really dont know exact location. may be near high mounted brake light.
Is the fuse for the brake lights OK? Check for power to the brake light switch at the brake pedal and for power coming from it with brake pedal depressed.
