What is your question?
You must have owned several vehicles in the past, that did that.
You either work on them yourself or you have a local repair shop you go to.

Be specific and give some details, when a repair shop, fails to met your expectations, and properly repair your vehicle

Does the vehicle have VVT ? The Inner Workings of Variable Valve Timing Engine Builder Magazine
Do you change oil regularly ? What cause's pinging ? Do you know ? Timing advanced , low octane fuel . I had a dodge truck back in the 90's ,was suppose to run on regular gas ! Pinged like crazy unless i use hightest . I don't know if a stuck advanced cam phaser would cause this or not . Just something to look at . Or the computer is advancing the timing for some strange reason .

05 cobalt manual oil pumped clogged up, engine almost ran dry. replaced oil and filter and few days later engine started pinging. kinda moderate when idling then very rapid while driving. Wanna do the

pinging is from spontaneous combustion ( detonation) and is from incorrect air /fuel ration and ignition timing. Run fault codes and check knock sensor and MAF/MAP/VAF sensors . Left un- checked it will melt holes in the pistons.

5.9 Lt 2001 dodge durango has 20 percent compression on cylinder 7, ran really luggish and engine shakes alot, was told could drive on 7 out of 8 cylinders after a couple weeks of driving it, i started it...

it sounds to me that #7 has a valve train problem, wiped cam to broken rocker arm, bent pushrod, broken spring, bent valve or burnt bad! Or it has broken ring on piston. shouldnt have kept driving, very bad idea. pull valve cover to check valve train. I would start there before going deeper into motor.

When engin gets hot it starts to **** is the plugs

if it is overheating , ti will ping. do not drive like this. Low on coolant? why getting hot? or do you just mean at operating temp? If yes, your EGR valve is plugged or not opening. EGR reduces ping on warm engine by reburning exhasut gases.

Engine pings when driving, replaced egr and egr solenoid still pings. driving down the freeway, replaced spark plugs a year ago. engine runs good no miss at idle or above

let me guess....... you are using regular 87 octane gas ? run it down to almost empty and fill it with super and see it it works you probably have about 100,000 miles on it the camshaft, lifters and valve springs, timing chain are all worn

Ping in engine and loss of power in my 1998 f-150 4.6l V8 I was driving about 20 miles of highway tonight and on my way there there was a loud pinging when i would put the engine under a load to get up to...

There are to many items to list on here but could be the knock sensor not reading properly and advancing or retarding the timing or could be a problem internally in the engine. Could also be a plugged up catalytic converter.

I DRIVE MY 1997 BUICK WITH SUPER CHARGER MOSTLY IN TOWN DRIVING AND I PUT 87 OCT FUEL IN THE CAR AND IT SEEMS TO DRIVE FINE WITH NO PINGING SOUND SO I ASK WILL IT DAMAGE MY ENGINE?

Hello there. No 87 oct fuel will not hurt the engine. As you say , the engine is not pinging or having any real valve noise. In the Summer when you use the A/C , you may need to go to the higher octain fuel , or run a can of octain boost as well. Thank you , Quinn Texada

I was driving heard a pinging sound from engine then car died

I need more info. Any trouble lights come on? Was it low on oil? Was the engine overheated? What was the coolant level? Were you towing at the time? Give me all you know and I can give you some ideas what it might be.
