Question about 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
Key was stuck in the ignition. I was finally able to remove the key but now when I put the key back in the ignition, can't turn car on. HELP!!!!
Under the steering column, there are three or four little holes in the plastic covering. If you look inside, one of them (the one on the right side toward the dash) there is a brass pin inside. This is the pin to release the key. As far as the key not turning, I have had the same problem. The first time I replaced the ignition switch and that solved the problem. However, this makes no sense because the ignition switch has nothing to do with the tumbler being locked. GMC thinks that my anti theft system, which is inside the ignition cylinder is the problem. By removing the ignition switch, it reset the pass lock anti-theft system and temporarily fixed the problem. So, try removing the ignition switch and then plugging it back in. If that doesn't work, your in the same boat as I am, and we may both need new ignition cylinders.

May be a security feature.
the car is locked out, to solve this,
first turn the key as if you were going to start it.
Second, place the car in a drive or neutral and return it to park
Third, try turning it off and starting the car.
My car does this if I jostled the steering wheel wrong and locked it.

Your problem is likely electrical. These vehicles need to "see" proper voltage to allow the key to be turned off.Try boosting or charging your battery and see what happens. If anyone doubts this solution, just try unhooking the battery on one of these vehicles with the key on and then try to switch it off-----won't work. Good luck.
