Question about 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser
I had a very similar problem. Power mirrors, dome light and radio stopped working. I spent a couple of days figuring out what is the problem. The diagrams didn't match very well to my car, the wires colors where not exactly the same than on the diagrams.
The solution: I have RHD version so I removed the plastic cover from below the dashboard on right hand side. I took a 15A wire and I put one of the ends in the rubber hole cover from the cabin to an engine compartment. I used one of 2 metal rails from a wiper. Actually I had to perforate the rubber which is located in my car on the engine compartment wall in the far right corner on the top. It is easier just to put your hand there (it is nearly impossible to see what you are doing, it is better and easier just to feel it with your fingers) with the rail and perforate it and after that pull the rail from the engine side with the wire attached to its second end. When its done remove an air filter and pull out a bit the fuse rail to be able to see its bottom. Under the fuse 18 there are 2 metal fuse fittings underneath. Pull out the fuse #18 and check which fitting is live +12V. Disconnect a battery. Now you have to remove a bit of isolation from the wire which is going to the fitting and attach to it the new wire pulled out from the cabin. Isolate it well with the isolation tape and push the fuse #18 back.
Now the hardest part of the job. Be patient not to destroy anything. Unscrew the fuse box inside a cabin to be able to have a look on its back side. There are 3 fuses which are responsible for a power supply for radio, mirrors, dome light and, I think, the power windows. Anyway, all of them they are connected by a piece of metal which is connected to a wire. Remove a bit of isolation from that wire and attach to it the second end of the new wire. Isolate it well. Reconnect a battery and check how it works. If everything is fine just put everything together in the engine compartment and in the cabin and click Yes to let me know I helped someone to save time and money :) Good luck!
