1998 Ford Explorer v-6 4.0 SOHC stalls out when making a sharp very left turn only from a complete stop, never any other time also the a/c is running at the time.Any ideas?

what was fuel level in tank at the time , reason I ask is it is possible for an older car like that to have the tank baffles rot off at top and it will starve the fuel suction line at times of hard turns (left ones) as this will make the fuel all go away from suction line (fuel line runs down drivers side) also I do think this has an older inertia tilt switch (just like a pinball game) they do go bad as well over time (safety switch that shuts off fuel in event of a crash) me id try it with a full tank then again at less than a half tank , that should tell u about the tank baffles ohh yes ck also your throttle kicker solenoid on the intake manifold this little brass plunger should pop out when AC comes on

Town and Country Van running out of gas and guage says half a tank what could be the problem?

If your fuel gauge is showing you in accurate readings this is normal to all vehicles that are not used to fill-up gas full regularly but sometimes the cause of the inacuracy is due to faulty float valve in the gas tank you need to replace it

99 C230 slowly dies on road

Some possible solutions (from general experience (i'm 55 yrs old)): 1. Plugged up fuel filter; Replace it. Part costs less than $10.00.If the filter is just in front of the tank, it should take a screwdriver and 15 minutes or less to swap. 2. Water in the fuel tank; Add a bottle of "Heat" to the tank. Cost ~ $3.50 or less. This next may require some trouble shooting or head scratching first. DO #1 & #2 First. (Won't hurt & Doesn't cost much) 3a. Partly clogged fuel line. 3b. Cracked fuel line. (Sucks air into the fuel line) Depends where the fuel pump is.(Also look for fuel leaks, especially around hoses in the fuel line.) 3c. Clogged carb.Filter (if it exists). Verify fuel delivered to Carb by disconnect @ Carb. attach small hose to catch container then turn on (NOT Start) ignition.Should hav a steady flow of fuel for at least several seconds. If so, Replace carb. filter. 4. Weak/ failing fuel pump. Major pain but backyard mech can do it with helpmay take half a day.May need to have a few empty gas cans available to save the existing fuel.. Replacement In-Tank pump assembly should be less than $50.00.

Just bought a 1988 Ford Ranger 2.9 liter v6 today. On my way home from the gentleman's house whom i bought it from, the truck starts bucking and sputtering. When accelerating at highway speeds there seems...

well i'd call the basterd and ask him what he wants to do about it , or take him to court as he did not disclose these problems. Or did he? I would check the fuel system for leaks which causes engine to get air and less fuel than it requires or check tank for leak and also check motor for bad vacuum lines and intake gaskets. spark plugs check.

2002 T&C fuel tank leak at the white entry fitting. Any glue to fix it?

Hi Vallee,

Yes there is.
Not so much glue as it is epoxy with a twist. Instead of starting out as a liquid, this stuff starts out like modeling clay.

It is sold in auto parts stores to seal cracks in batteries and fuel tanks. The major advantage is not having to empty either of them.

It comes as sort of a clay tube. The resin surrounds the hardener. You just slice off what you need, squish it a couple dozen times until the color is all the same and tamp it in and around the hole, crack, whatever. Hardens in less than a half hour, full cure about six hours.

Good stuff

Best regards,
