Im assuming this is the Series I 3800? If so, if you can email me I can send you some directions on the process. Its for a Series II 3800 but it should be similar. If you cant email me, post up and I'll see what I can do.

You will have a no start or stalls after engine gets hot and then cools down restarts, the sensor is on the front of the engine mounted into the cam gear cover if it is not visiable get under the, (here is a picture) car and look.

Hello oldiro: My name is Roger and I can help. From under the vehicle look up between the transmission and the side of the block. Mid motor above the pan rail there is a bolted in sensor. This should be the crank sensor.It will have two wires plugged in to it. Please rate this answer as this lets us know you received the information you asked for. I have a 1998 volkswagon jetta. The starter doesn't turn over. Occassionaly when you move the car forward or back then it will crank. What is wrong?
