Sir, Also Make sure you have the Wiring correct on your ignition system From Distributor Cap to Spark Plugs. Your Firing Order is 1---3----4----2 Clockwise For a 4 Cylinder.

And For a V-6 its 1----4----2----5----3----6--Also running Clockwise on your Distributor Cap.And Spark Plug GAP should be 0.039 to 0.043. 0.043 will be at the Recomended Gap.If you bought plugs that don't require Gapping like Platium/Gold don't worry about trying to Gap THEY are PRESET. Thanks Again:

I have a 1987 ford ranger the engine turns over but it wont start

Spark at plugs? Fuel filter? Pressure on injector delivery line? Pressure relief valve? You may be able to measure fuel pressure at the pressure relief valve location. and return line. If you have spark, I'd say it's a fuel supply problem

2004 325xi BMW wont start - replace spark plugs and fuel pump

If u hear the engine cranking in the AM, the batt & alt sound good. If you don't get any engine cranking in the am you may have an electrical short draining the battery. Before u convict the starter u must make sure the battery has full power in the AM. (12V) & 12 V to the starter

Car sounds like it wants to start but won't has a new battery what could be the problem

3 main components to getting your car started. spark, check if all your spark plugs are working. if not or its a weak spark or even if the tips of the spark plug looks fried then pick up some new ones. if they arent working at all then most likely your distributer has dies (RIP) and if only one or 2 work then check if your spark plug wires are connected properly. next you should check your fuel, check your fuel pressure on the fuel rail. i believe it goes across the back of the engine. its a small pipe about the size of a dime to nickle and at the end of it there should be a quick release. if it sprays out then your good if it doesnt then it could be a few things starting with your fuel pump or a clot. and the last thing your car needs is air. that is the least likely thing it would be but check your air filter anyways if none of that helps then im stumped but i cant see it being anything else

Check All Fuses and Relays in the power distribution center under the hood and at the fuse panel inside the truck! Let me know if you find anything burnt!

93 volvo 850 glt changed the fuel pump now car wont start. Engine cranks, fuel pump working, fuel getting to the motor but it wont start. The car had trouble starting sometimes so i changed the fuel...

Check your fuel pressure to ensure proper pressure to the block, also did you replace the fuel filter.

On a side note: 3 things a automobile needs to run

AIR-make sure you have a clean air filter and your MAF (mass air flow sensor is plugged in) if you pulled your breather to innspect anything, there is a possibility that it came unplugged or you unpluged it and forgot to hook it back up, a car wont start without it being plugged in if equiped

SPARK-Make sure your car has juice to the plugs, if the plug doesnt fire the car wont run, if you have to pull each plug and ground them to the engine block to see if they arch. If not trace the problem down (if you changed the fuel pump you have some mechanical skill and should be able to troubleshoot a spark issue)

FUEL-Check for proper pressure, dirty fuel filter(s) and if your system has a return line, make sure your hoses didnt get crossed cause this will damage the engine and regulator.

Hope this helps Thanks for using

Well, there are some hundreds reasons why the engine can stop. Common ones are:
Dirty fuel filters, problems with electronic distribution, spark plugs to be changed, broken fuel pump, battery contact not in place, blown head gasket, rarely also a problem with anti-theft alarm motor lock can cause same thing.
Generally, if the car motor stopped immediately, with no additional symptoms is likely a problem with distribution ( no spark).
If you have experience in servicing your car you should start from checking if there is spark, and if petrol is being pumped regularly.
Best thing to do is always having it checked by a mechanic.
