Those straps go towards the front of the car and connect to the next bow towards the frount pull them out and you'll see they can be connected to a forward bow above the door window glass provided the ends aren't broken off ( a common problem ) If they are hopefully the dealer can still order new ones if you need them.

How does the soft top of a 93 jeep wrangler come off the track of the windshield ?

  • I have a 93 Wrangler and there are no snaps like later models over the windshield. You remove the rear window and side windows. Pull out the top at the rear where it slides under the retaining flanges. Pull down on the bows and that relieves the tension so the top will come out of the windshield flange. From there you can take it off or fold it down.

The easiest way to remove a fuel pump off a camaro

Hello,

Drive the rear of the Camaro onto a set of ramps and secure the parking brake. If the Camaro no longer runs due to the fuel pump, place the rear end of the vehicle onto jack stands.

Use a socket and ratchet to disconnect the negative battery cable from the negative battery terminal. This removes power from the electric fuel pump.

Place a jack under the gas tank and raise the jack so it butts up against the tank. This applies pressure to the tank and prevents it from falling while you remove the retaining bolts for the tank straps.

Use a socket and ratchet to remove the retaining bolt from each of the two straps located closest to the rear of the vehicle. These are the rear strap bolts. Pull the straps down.

Lower the jack to lower the tank from the vehicle. Because you left the front of the straps attached, the tank rests at an angle under the vehicle. This prevents the need to unhook all of the hoses connected to the tank.

Place the cam tool (J-24187) onto the retaining cam on the top of the tank and turn it a quarter turn counterclockwise. Take the sending unit cam off the tank.

Disconnect the fuel pump from the sending unit cam and plug the new pump into the sending unit.

Place the fuel sending unit cam onto the tank and turn it clockwise a quarter turn with the specialized tool.

Use the straps, bolts, socket and ratchet to jack the tank back up under the Camaro and secure it.

Use the socket and ratchet to reconnect the negative battery cable to the negative battery terminal.

I hope the above helps.

Good luck.

1995 Jaguar convertable XJS quarter light windows wont go up

The rear windows are controlled by a timer in the top's ECU. If
the rear windows stop fully closing before your top is closed, the
problem MAY be with top's hydraulic system.

Check your top's hydraulic reserve tank for low fluid level. Lack
of fluid will greatly delay the top's closing sequence, leaving
those rear windows partially open.
Your top's hydraulic pump system is located beneath the right side
of the cubby/storage box behind the front seats. Raise the cover
and you'll see a removable trim panel on the right side. The pump
is behind that access panel.

You can use power steering fluid to top off the tank, but don't
fill it above level indicator line. You may have to add more fluid
after you cycle the top up and down to get the air bubbles out of
the lines.
It could also be a relay. On a 95 the relays that are in the trunk above the battery.
Perhaps, just switching the relays might prove which one is failing..

Leaking roof under passenger seat

Have you cleaned out the drain tubes? There is a 'rain rail' underneath the rear lip, which diverts water off the top and down to tubes on each side. The tubes get clogged up with leaves and whatnot. You can use a coathanger to CAREFULLY clear the debris. Check out www.miata.net for more Miata information than you could imagine.

Happy Motoring!

How do i remove hardtop on a 1990 mercedes sl 500

Assuming the hardtop/soft top system is operating properly-push the red switch in the console towards back of car until the top pops up. Make sure you unplug the defroster harness at the r rear of top (behind passenger seat. It will take 2 people to grab the top and pull it up and off. If this system is inoperable- there is a tool in the tool kit(if not you can buy one at the dealer-called a hard top removal tool) and unlock the 2 locks in the front of the top by the sun visors, and 2 locks located behind the seats by the quarter glass panels and the 2 locks in the rear accessible through the trunk. Your owners manual will describe how to do this procedure. I hope i have been helpful

hello, it sounds like the tension straps for the top are stretched. when the straps get like that, they allow collision between the storage lid and the rear bow. I would recommend having the straps inspected to see if they can be pulled tighter, or if they need to be replaced.
