Can you start it? Did it discharge the battery?

Also, the sudden jolt of current from the sudden rush due to the shunting of the starter terminals may have sent WAY too much power through the radio.

    Hey,
the battery was fine, just changed the fuse and everything else worked but the radio.

Well, I'm still not entirely sure that it didn't totally fry the radio ... Go over the wiring once more, but ... if that doesn't do it, take it in to a dealer to play with it, or more likely, a standard auto garage.

Windows won't raise up in my 2001 Mercury Mountaineer due to bad fuse

That is a lot of don't knows

That tells me your better off at a repair shop

Why not check all the fuses

If one blew,it will blow again, until you
fix the real problem

If one window works, it won't be a fuse

The most common would be a window
switch you use the most, followed by a window
regulator,then a fail motor.

You should have an owners manual for
all your vehicles to look up fuses & lamps

2001 Mercury Mountaineer won't start

Have a load test done on the battery. If it checks out good, take a voltmeter to the battery and have an assistant rotate the engine. If you see more than a 2 volt drop when the car is being started, the starter is heading south.
