Is there any "no bus" message seen on the display. No Bus message in the odometer. And the gauges stop working except the tach then this problem is related to "PCM" .Either the pcm is faulty or the pcm connecting wires have got loose, Try this as follows and check:---
1. Disconnect the battery and wait 15 minutes.
2. Pull the three wire bundle connection to the PCM off, you may even notice if any wire is not seated/connected properly.
3. Spray out connectors on cables and on PCM with QD Electric Cleaner. You may notice that there is dirt, corrosion, etc in there. Do you best to get it all out, but do not overspray. It is better to spray a little at a time and let it air dry before spraying again.
4. Reconnect everything, including your battery.
And then check. --------------- The powertrain control module (PCM) in your Dodge Durango is located on the right (passenger side) of the engine compartment. It is the circuit board computer designed to withstand extreme temperatures. The components in the engine, transmission, drivetrain and other areas send information to the PCM.

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

Durango check guage light on - ONLY the battery guage is high

You need to check the alternator regulator. if it lets the alternator go free, it will burn out the diodes.

I have a 99 Durango 318 it acts like its not

U may have a defective fuel pressure check valve in the electric fuel pump, u have the classic symptoms, to check this buy a fuel pressure test guage for your truck, about $40, the test port for fuel pressure is on the top of th engine in the fuel rail that supplies fuel to the injectors, hook up the guage to the test port and run the engine, make sure u have no fuel leaks at the hook up, then shut down the engine, the fuel pressure should not drop more than 5 PSI, if it does the check valve is defective and you need a new fuel pump

Wont start No buss on speedometer.

Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor and turn the key on. See if the "no bus" message goes away and the gauges come back to life. If so, replace the crankshaft position sensor. On a 4.7 it is just above the starter, on a 4.0 it is on the left side of center of the bell housing. The modules all communicate on the bus and if it is down the vehicle won't start. I've seen the crank sensor short out and pull the bus down resulting in the exact condition you described.
