Ok fans on vehicles is air injected when a vehicle reaches certain wind velosity the fan will shut off cause the outside air is keeping the engine cool simple fix around this
goto checker buy a toggle switch powered for on with key
find the power wire to fan with test light and hook up to toggle switch
this keeps the fan on permanently by passing the wind velosity sensor
now if you dont want to do this the other alternative is the dealership replacement in this issue and that can be expensive
this is the quick simple fix
fords do this its commen

I have a 2000 ford focus 1.6i zetec can you tell me where the coolant temperature sensor is located please

The temp sensor will be close to or in the thermostat housing.(top radiator hose). A temp sensor also controls cooling fan. this sensor is usually mounted in the radiator. I strongly recommend that you purchase a Chilton manual for this vehicle.

Where it usually rots through is the elbow at the back where it connects to the throttle body. Hope this helps. The only place i could find any views is here. vacuum hose diagram - Focus Fanatics

I have a 2003 made-in-mexico 2.0 zetec ford focus, the coolant temperature sensor is giving me a lot of trouble, the fan doesnt start, and i´ve checked already the fan motor, and is fine, can you tell...

You might need a coolant sensor, now,if the thermostat,is not opening,or there is air in the system, this would cause the problem also,so make sure all of this has been took care of,most likely is the problem,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

I have a 2000 ford focus 2.0 zetec dual overhead cam with a broken timing belt at low speed. Is this engine a non interference engine?

all Zetec engines (2.0 DOHC) are NOT interference engines. There are deep reliefs cut into the top of the piston to clear the valves when they are fully extended. There will be no valve damage if the timing belt breaks on a Zetec engine.

Also could be cooling fans. Did you notice if your fans are working when it is hot? Could be bad fan relay which would keep your fans from turning.

ENGINE COOLANT FAN NOT CUTTING IN

On my 2001 Focus Zetec 2.0L, the radiator fan only worked with the air conditioning turned on (as in no low speed - engine would overheat while idling or in traffic, but was fine as long as the A/C was on). The fix was to replace the radiator fan resistor assembly located in the fan shroud between the fans.
