What is an AC diode fuse? I have a 2006 AWD Pontiac Torrent the AC/Heat doesn't work, I've changed all fuses for the HAVAC and still no AC/Heat blowing out of vents. What could be the problem?

Could be a number of thing's ! Testing the electrical circuit is the way to find out what's wrong . Using a wiring diagram and a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter . Videos on youtube showing how to test it ! Without testing i would only be guessing . Does it work in high speed ? In high speed it by-passes the resistor . If it doesn't work in any speed more then likely the blower motor is the problem !
Air Speed
The HVAC control assembly applies ground to the blower motor control circuit that corresponds to the selected blower speed. The resistors and the blower motor are in a series circuit. The following list represents the number of resistors in series with the blower motor per particular speed request:
• Low speed--3 resistors
• Medium 1 speed--2 resistors
• Medium 2 speed--1 resistor
When the operator requests High speed, the HVAC control assembly applies ground directly to the blower motor through the high blower motor control circuit. The resistor card has a fusible link which, if blown, will require that the card be replaced.

I have a 2007 HHR, my temp gauge stops working and the same time the a/c stops blowing cold air...I called myself checking fuses and a relay, can you help?

You mean the blower motor stops blowing air , the A/C compressor is still engaged ? The temp gauge shouldn't have anything to do with the blower motor .But stranger things have happened on these systems when they are controlled by a electronic module (BCM )
Circuit/System Description
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the engine coolant temperature as determined by the engine control module (ECM). The ECM sends the temperature data via high speed GMLAN serial data to the body control module (BCM). The BCM then sends the information via low speed GMLAN to the IPC in order to display the engine temperature.
The BCM applies voltage to the blower motor through the HVAC relay. The resistors and the blower motor are in a series circuit. The following list represents the number of resistors in series with the blower motor per particular speed request:
• Low speed--4 resistors
• Medium 1 speed--3 resistors
• Medium 2 speed--2 resistors
When the operator requests High speed, the HVAC control assembly applies ground directly to the blower motor through the high blower motor control circuit.
Do you know anything about automotive serial data communications ? GMLAN Is general motors version of C.A.N controller area network .

How to Diagnose Controller Area Network CAN

Do you know anything about diagnosing automotive electronics ? Using a digital volt ohm meter ? Using wiring diagrams to pin point locations in a electrical circuit for testing ? Do you know what a factory componet location diagram is ? It takes more then looking at fuse's an relays , to see if current is flowing in a electrical circuit .

Then click the search button , then click the first blue link . This is the blower motor control diagram . Do you know how to read a wiring diagram ?

Can anyone tell me where the fuse and/or relay is located for the blower motor on a 2005 Buick LaCrosse

First off , does it work on any speed ? After looking at a wiring diagram I find out your vehicle has a Blower motor control processor , a module ! That is your problem ,more then likely !
DEFINITION: The blower motor is inoperative in all speed positions.

1

Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?
--
Go to Step 2
Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle

2

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Place the blower switch in each speed position.
Does the blower motor operate in any of the speed positions?
--
Go to Blower Motor Malfunction
Go to Step 3

3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the blower motor connector.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the blower motor supply voltage circuit and the blower motor control circuit.
  5. Place the blower motor switch in the minimum speed position.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
--
Go to Step 9
Go to Step 4

4

Test the battery positive voltage circuit of the blower motor control processor for the following:
?€¢
An open

?€¢
A high resistance

?€¢
A short to ground

Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .
Did you find and correct the condition?

Important: Ensure that the blower motor control processor connector and the HVAC control module connectors are connected during this step in order to avoid misdiagnosis.

  1. Measure the voltage from the blower motor speed control circuit at the HVAC control module to a good ground.
  2. With the ignition ON, turn the blower motor to high then to OFF.
Does the voltage measure near the specified values?
5 V OFF
1 V ON
Go to Step 10
Go to Step 7

7

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the HVAC control module.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Measure the voltage from the blower motor speed control circuit of the HVAC control module to a good ground.
Does the voltage measure near the specified value?
5 V
Go to Step 11
Go to Step 8

2006. I switched the vents from front to feet and defrost and turned it up all the way and it stopped blowing. Why?

That is the blower motor relay, probably . You have all speeds but high ? High speed has a direct path to the blower motor through a high blow relay . All other speeds go through the blower motor resistor assembly . This relay is part of the blower motor resistor assembly > That is if you have manual HVAC system .
Blower Motor Resistor Assembly (CJ3)
Under the right side of the I/P mounted to the HVAC box next to the blower motor.

2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Htr/AC fan switch only functions @ highest speed. At lower speed settings I can hear doors opening and closing---but not air.

replace the blower motor resistor. It controls the fan speeds. It defaults to high speed only when it fails.

How to replace the blower motor resistor block: Caution: Stay clear of the blower motor and resistor block (Hot). Do not operate the blower motor with the resistor block removed. 1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the glove box from the instrument panel.
3. Pull out the lock on the blower motor resistor wire harness connector to unlock the connector latch.
4. Depress the latch on the blower motor resistor wire harness connector and disconnect the connector from the resistor.
5. Remove the two screws that secure the blower motor resistor block to the HVAC housing.
6. Remove the resistor block from the HVAC housing. Installation:
1. Position the blower motor resistor block into the HVAC housing.
2. Install the two screws that secure the resistor block to the HVAC housing. Tighten the screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.)
3. Connect the wire harness connector to the resistor block.
4. Push in the lock on the blower motor resistor wire harness connecgtor to lock the connector latch.
5. Install the glove box.
6. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
7. Have a nice day!

Blower fan only works on high

CHECK THE HVAC CTRL FUSE.

WITH A TEST LIGHT CHECK THE BLOWER RESISTOR FOR POWER ON THE YELLOW, TAN, PURPLE, AND LIGHT BLUE WIRES. THE ORANGE WIRES CONTROL THE HIGH SPEED CIRCUIT. DO THIS FOR EACH POSITION OF THE BLOWER SWITCH.

THE BROWN WIRE ON THE HVAC CONTROL CONNECTOR 1 POSITION B COMES FROM THE HVAC FUSE 20 AMP. NO POWER ON THAT WIRE WILL CAUSE THE BLOWER TO NOT FUNCTION ON THE LOWER SPEEDS.
