IF you have the right key just program it to work. Turn the key on and bump the starter and then leave the key on. after about 15 minutes the security light will go out. turn the key off and then back on and the security light will come back on again leave it on till the light goes out. One more time turn the key off and then back on and the light will come on again, This time when the light goes out xtart the car and the car will have learned the new key. It's possible that the key reader is brocken. the wires comining down to the connector at the base of the steering collum is where you check. theirs a big connector with a bolt though the middle of it and this connector has two other plugs made into the sides of it the go to the collum in the very end of one of the plugs are two white wires that stand alone. with this plug unplugged( unbolted) the two white wires sould show OHMs resistance, only with the key in with the key out it should be open and there should be noOHMs to ground either. the resistance that you get should be the same as the key ( the pill on the sides one side to the other). If it's broke it'll not run. if you connect the key to these wires and turn the switch with another key it'll work like that or you can fix thew wires.

If you could disable the security system, they wouldn't call it a security system. Can't be bypassed.

How to reset security alarm on 98 firebird

The security, antitheft, or passlock light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterperates this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle.

1994 pontaic firebird wont start security light comes on blinking

This is a problem in your antitheft system. The security light is only for this system. You will need a new key, ignition, or TDM. (THEFT DETERRENT MODULE) The hard part is determining which of these is the problem. You can also bypass this system and use the existing parts. You only bypass the security feature. I have a 2002 pontiac firebird v-6 3800. The heater hoses run into a part that is attached to the motor. I am trying to find the name of the part so I can replace it or find an engine diagram for that...

Paul, if you mean "radiator hose" then the part is the thermostat housing.

Perhaps the part is the bypass valve, which causes the heated water to "bypass" the heater core if the core is restricted.
