Does your dome light work? If it does not then the fuse that controls the clock and lights has blown. If only the clock is dead then it is a bad clock. This is a very common issue with Camry clocks, unfortunately. They were manufactured pretty poorly. If you want to have it repaired with a lifetime guarantee, please check out www.autoclockrepair.com. All the info is there on how to remove the clock. Drop me a note if you have any questions, thanks!

Mercedes s550 clock

Hi Aamer, Salaam, When the vehicle has the ignition switched off the visible readout is also turned off but power feeds the clock memory. Once you restart the vehicle the visible read out is illuminated and the figures become visible. If however the clock needs to be reset each time you start the vehicle, that means that the power feeding the memory of the clock has failed, which usually means a broken cable or a bad contact. I can help with the clock light.

Normally, with the headlights off, the clock light (numbers) should be very bright so they can be seen during the day. The electronics designers thought you would only turn the headlights on at night so they made the clock numbers only bright enough to be seen in the dark (that is, they are dim in day light).

I like to drive with my headlights on (day or night) for safety. Therefore, I click my lights off occasionally, to see the clock (barely visible in daylight).

I always find trouble shooting automotive electric a pain in the neck so I go to a shop that specializes in "auto electric". They will generally track down something this simple for about $25. It You can check if the spring fell out of your lighter (+ contact). Other than that, leave it to the pros - it is so much less of a headache.

The "clock spring" is a slang term used to describe the round electrical contact below the steering wheel inside the steering column, that transfers the switch contacts in the steering wheel to the actual vehicle. Your problem is more than likely the bearing in the top half of the steering column. Disconnect the battery and remove the air bag and steering wheel nut, steering wheel, and electrical switches, then look at the mechanical bearings or bushings at the steering shaft and case unit, the problem should be visible at this point. Hope this helps, let me know.

My clock light on my 2004 Subaru Forester won't light anymore. The dome light works so I know its not a fuse.

Is this for a 1999 Forester or for a 2004 forester, the title lists both years. If it is a 1999 model then the problem most likely resides within the clock itself. Unfortunately, many clocks of this vintage go bad over time. I offer a reasonable repair service and many clock removal instruction sheets at www.autoclockrepair.com
I'd be happy to assist.

It is highly unlikely that the clock's wiring was tampered with during a brake job, I suppose anything is possible though.
Your issue sounds like a typical "dying clock". It is (unfortunately) a very common issue with many clocks. Check out www.autoclockrepair.com. I offer a reasonable repair service and a lifetime guarantee.

Clock doesn't work in my 1998 Subaru Legacy gt

Does it show anything like the station? Lots of Subie drivers, including myself, leave the lights on all the time. IF you have the dimmer control for the instrument panel turned down low it wont allow the radio display to be visible. Just the first thing I think of when I hear this problem and real easy to check. Good luck and have a great day.

1994 Jeep cherokee am/fm radio backlight lamp is out and AC/Heat dash lamp is out

There is a tiny little peanut shaped light bulb inside the radio that provides the light for the dial, it is replaceable, you will need to remove the radio, then pull the top cover off the radio chassis, the bulb is under the cover.
