SOURCE: 2003 Honda Civic -LX Timing belt

I tried to get my timing belt/water pumped changed at 96,000K's and my dealer told me the belt in our 2003 Civic is good for 7 years or 168,000K's. I didn't believe him, so I called another dealer out of town and they told me 7 years or 184,000K's.

My 2007 Kia Rio is ten years old and has only 25,000 miles on it. Is it time to change the timing belt based on age, not mileage

Kia recommends ( california) checking at 60,000miles and 90,000miles and changing at 105,000miles
all other states and up to 2009 kia recommends replacement every 60,000miles
models from 2010 recommends every 60,000 miles or 72 months which ever occurs first
the timing belt is subject to dust ,age , grime and oil from cam, crank and hydraulic tension leaks so It would be advisable to consider changing it
rubber ages and cracks and a check by an accredited service shop would be a prudent move and if it is recommended to change the belt consider the advice

What is all needed for a tune up on a 1995 volvo 960

I usually service Ford family Brands and will try to assist you. Back in 1995 there was a change to longer service life sparkplugs and the elimination of Distributors with Crankshaft sensor firing of the plugs. It really depends on the Manufacturers' idea of when to replace sparkplugs by mileage and the various filters on the engine.

You can install plugs and filters anytime you want; just a matter of prematurely spending money on something you do not need. Air filters 12,000 miles, Sparkplugs 50,000 to 100,000 miles, Serpetine Fan Belt 40,000 to 45,000 miles, Fuel filter 25,000 to 45,000 miles.

Check with Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys for information about Manufacturers specs. Stay on an oil change interval based on your driving habits. Sometimes oil breaks down without higher miles and you need to change by date rather than by use. Clean oil for Winter starts, clean oil for Summer driving. Twice a year is adequate for low mileage. Watch your Antifreeze, it chemically changes after 3 years and loses corrosion inhibitors.

I hope at least some of my suggestions are useful to you.

We have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt we bought new off the lot. It currently has about 37000 km and the say the drive belt is worn out. Are they taking me for a ride?

Can you be clearer what you mean here? If you mean timing belt ( then they are not due for replacement until 45,000 miles) .Now if it is one belt that drives a fan or that connects to the alternator then it is a different story and they might need changing when they start making some squeaky noises. I would suggest you shop or ask around as it could be the case of being ripped off. Any question please feel free to ask.

Volvo s 60 2.5t time for regular service what does this entail

Biggest thing that needs to be serviced at that mileage (outside of regular oil change and hose/belt inspection) is the timing belt (and probably should change the water pump while in there).
