I have a 1991 ford probe 6 cy. My fuel pump went out and my son had a ford fuel pump that put out same psi as mind, only its alittle longer than mind. Now my battery will not hold a charge(it's dead).Could the fuel pump have something to do with battery no good?"

It shouldn't have anything to do with it. The fuel pump relay doesn't activate without the key being turned to the on or start positions so i can't be draining your battery.

My son has a 1991 pontiac firebird v8 base model 5.0. The previous owner put in an inline fuel pump, which is now going (confirmed by a mechanic a couple months ago). My son is away at college and...

If you can identify the manufacturer and model of the fuel pump, you can probably locate a replacement on Amazon or by doing a web search. The inline pumps range from 3psi to 100+psi (used for racing and high-performance engines). Any replacement pump that provides 5-10 psi should be usable.

96 Probe GT. Fuel pump doesn't run when it should.

Does your car run? Some fuel pumps run quiet so you will need to get your ear close to the gas tank and have someone turn on the ignition. The pumps only run about 3 seconds when the ignition is turn on without starting the engine.

Just bought 1991 Ford Probe lx v6 won't start

If you have spark and fuel (either via the injectors or spraying fluid into the intake), and still no evidence of firing, it suggests your valvetrain may not be working. If the valves can't open, the fuel cant get into the cylinder.

Do (or have done) a compression test. You may have a broken timing belt/chain.

I have a 6 Cyl and need to know how much fuel pressure should be. The fuel pump stays on.

Should be 40 to 55 psi, probably split feed line in tank, common with fords.

Need to find fuel pump shut off switch for 1991 ford probe 3.0

It will be located in the trunk. A red push button switch. More than likely the problem is a fuel pump relay or bad fuel pump.

Car won't start.1991 Ford Probe

check your fuel rail on the intake. if you are not getting fuel there the blockage is in the lines, if you are getting fuel there then it is your injectors clogging up

1995 Ford Probe sputtering, dying. Won't start now.

This to me sounds like it could be the fuel pump but first I would check the simpler solution and make sure your alternator is good because if your started turns over fine but the car wont start the next part to check would be for me the alternator.
