Question about 1994 Dodge Ram
When driving looses oil pressure but when shut off and immediatly restarted it comes back for a couple of miles
More than likely it is the Oil Pressure Switch especially if your valves are not rattling or water temp is not elevating. The switch is located by distributor and only cost 16.99 at autozone. I would try this before exploring pump problems.

Either the oil pump is going bad or the sump screen on the pump is clogged.
