My car has the same problem. It has absolutely no power going up hills and when I get on the highway I spend about 2min traveling at 25 mph. Other than that the car runs fine but we can't seem to find the source of this problem.

I have a 1992 Pontiac Sunbird that will not start

Needs to have at least 3o lbs of fuel pressure, may need to rent
a gauge from your local parts house.
Plus make sure all the ground wires are attached (bell housing
bolt is where the ECM ground is,I think)

Click on the following free direct LinkS. These are for your 1992 Pontiac Sunbird. They have both: the 2.0L 4-Cylinder and 3.1L V6 Engine Diagrams with the various engine options (AC/No AC etc.)
This First Link has the Belt Diagram/Front Engine Diagrams you will need to remove in order to gain access to the Timing Belt Cover, which also has to be removed so you can remove the Timing Belt.

This Second Link are the Timing Belt Diagrams, complete with Instructional Diagrams.

As far as a Step-by-Step procedure: It would literally take dozens of Pages using this type of forum. I strongly suggest for your sake: to purchase a Haynes or Chilton Manual, available at most auto parts stores for around $20-$25. These have every step-by-step procedure you will need; including the Torques Specifications for each and every Bolt and/or Nut you are removing or loosening.
