This could be an Idle air controll valve and low fuel pressure

My truck wont start unless i prime the carborator first, then it wont stay running unless i rev it high just before i put it in gear, or im accellerating...

To start with, you have a throttle body instead of a carburetor.
On that throttle body is a component called an air control valve.
That valve is how the computer controls the idle speed. It should open and close the air flow into the intake manifold as needed.
Is the check engine light on when you are driving ? Have you checked the fuel pressure ?

1989 oldsmobile cutlass ciera car starts but won't stay running it sputters and backfires and dies

sounds like a timing chain or timing belt if i had to guess, but unless you are a car buff something that old is not worth repairing.

2.8 engine Would start when cool, but stall after

89 cierra? It should be DIS ignition so you can't have the timing too high. You said it has fuel and spark. Fuel pressure and injection pulse. Does it try to start if you spray carb cleaner into it?
