-   WHEN I FILL THE TANK OF MY 2004 X3 SOMETIMES, GETTING MORE FREQUENT, THE GAS GUAGE READS THAT THERE IS NO GAS IN IT, AND LIGHT STAYS ON.  I HAPPENS OCCASIONALLY EVEN WHEN I HAVENT FILLED UP.  VERY IRRATIC.  -   IGRINNBEARIT

The sending unit is most likley bad.Its located in the gas tank with the fuel pump assembely.The assembely needs to be replaced.
